The LG Cookie is merely a shadow on the iPhone. What price range are you looking at? (i.e. How much would you pay for a handset, or how much would you pay per month?)

Anything really, so the LG Cookie is just the iPhone £200 cheaper :S
I thought if it was cheaper it wouldn't have as much stuff as the iPhone, ahwell is their any other phones :P?

Never go by price for mobile phones, otherwise you start comparing to expensive peices of junk *cough*iPhone*cough*

Well I'm used to buying the most expensive items assuming there the best :O
So I payed £340 for the iPhone and the LG Cookie is £93 and its just the same, if it is then DOH!

It is not as feature-filled as the iPhone. The Cookie is a lovely phone and fills its niche really well... but if you have been used to the iPhone, you will notice the limitations of the Cookie. Lovely phone, just not what I think you are after.

Getting a phone with Wi-Fi is tantamount to essential if you want to use the internet and not pay extortionate data charges. I recommend the LG Renoir as well, but it's a tad pricey. Alternatively (a little biased here) the Nokia 5800 is a fantastic bit of kit. Handset only is around £250, but I'm sure you can pick it up on eBay for around £200. Contracts are around £30, but O2 has a deal on for £15 with 100 minutes and unlimited texts.

May I ask why you are looking for another phone as well as your iPhone?

Well yeah I want a phone that is touch screen, has Wi-Fi (Email, Internet and so on) and the basic features that the iPhone has.

I want a different phone thats why :P

Tbh the iPhone isn't all it seems, i'v had mine a fair few months now but within this time its got damaged twice. I had insurance and got a new iPhone the following day but when its something stupid like the silence button on the side been loose its a bit silly.

If i could cancel my 18 month contract id get the new google phone :).

If you keep having them break on you and its not your fault you have the right to cancel the contract if you say that you beleive the phone is not suitable for its use.

If they keep breaking then some features become unavailable, making it unsuitable for its use :)

The iPhone is utter **** IMO.

Your a total jealous. IMO.

Don't criticise things when you haven't got one, and have not have first hand experience like I have, I previously had the N95 and it's nothing compared to this phone.

iPhones are the best phone and is the bench mark for all phones to meet -ATM (until N97 comes out)

********.

The iPhone is a limited benchmark. It's only a benchmark in so far as other phones are; they can only be used as a benchmark against other similar phones. Sony Ericsson are hardly going to use the 2 megapixel iPhone with limited photo capabilities as a benchmark for their CyberShot range, are they? (Unless of course they want to humiliate...)

The iPhone has been a success, and it is useful to compare it to similar phones... but it is far from being the ultimate phone until it can cater very broadly.

It is still the bench marks for all phones to reach...

I don't think people are to bothered if it's a 2mp camera or a 12mp camera? who uses their phone to take professional photos? Cameras on the phone are mainly used for casual pictures - not much quality is needed, although I do miss the flash that you get on most other camera phones.

Thanks.

No, it is not the benchmark for all phones to reach. Did you even read what I posted? The iPhone has a market niche. Not all phones target that niche. Sony Ericsson are certainly not targeting that area at the moment... so they are hardly going to benchmark against the iPhone.

Clearly some people are bothered about the quality of camera lens or number of megapixels available, or they wouldn't sell. There is a market for such phones, just as there is a market for the iPhone.

If you believe the iPhone is a benchmark for every phone produced by any manufacturer for any audience or market niche, you are seriously deluded.

No im not, if I wanted to I could have bought one and paid for it my self, instead I went for an opensource phone which I didn't have to pay a rediculous price for. I owned an iPod Touch, sure the apps were great, but I wouldn't use it again after I had used an app once. I sold it when I bought my G1, IF I was jelous I would have kept my iPod Touch, I was jelous in the beginning when they were first released, now its just like "meh? So what?"
