Here's a heads up about some kind of spyware virus that invaded Facebook yesterday. It's an application called Facebook Error Check and it claims that one of your friends tried to access your page but couldn't view profile picture and some information due to an error. DO NOT add this application, and if you do, remove it immediately by clicking Edit on the Applications tab, and I advise a change of password.

It was only launched the other day.

Facebook should pre-approve application coding before they are allowed to be launched to the public.

That'd be pretty hard because, well when I developed one anyway, you have to link it up to facebook and test it on your profile if it uses facebook id's etc so it's pretty hard to check the code to be pre-approved when it's getting 100s of updates a day, and plus the code is hosted remotely and not on the facebook servers which mean that they'd have to physically have to FTP on to your server and examine would could be 10,000s lines of code. Plus it's not very economical for facebook to do it when no doubt hundreds of new apps appear every day, every one which would have to be approved by a physical member of the facebook team.

(At Captain btw)
