well, people often compare them to joy division. some people go as far as to say they are a blatant rip-off, actually.

but i love interpol. their most recent album wasn't all that great but "turn on the bright lights" is one of my favorite albums of all time.

i think his voice sounds uncannily like ian curtis's sometimes, and their abrupt style of instrumentation is kinda similar but in general they're not enough alike to say they're a rip off i dont think.
