Seriously, what the hell.

I did a test on Habbox, you see. Turns out what I was thinking was true.

I created a thread with old news, on purpose and it got locked. That was to be expected. I bumped an old thread on the same topic, it got locked.

I've seen before when people post stuff which is old, so people reply "use the search tool" - so when people do use the search tool and not create a new thread, they get told off for bumping. I even got negative reputation for it, as if I'm gonna cry about it.

Go on, give me negative reputation for this thread as well.

Make your ******* minds up.

Calm down a little bit, you generally need mature and sensible threads in Habbox Feedback if you have any hope of getting anywhere. Since you've called people 'Idiots' you're automatically going to get replies which are of little use and make the thread a bit more tense.

This has been going on for over a year, infact all the time I've used HabboxForum but I've never seen the need for change, but yes this is a problem and I totally see what you mean.

You're not going to get a very good reply by calling people idiots and being rude now are you?

Care to post the links to these threads so we can we what you mean?

Edit - I found the thread ( http://www.habboxforum.com/showthread.php?t=562277 ). The UK News Forum is to post new news and rumours. If you used the search tool you will have seen that the news is very old and therefore you don't need to discuss it. If you wanted to discuss it though, you should of made a thread in Habbo In General and spoke about it there.

Well if you are going to bump a thread that is pretty old then yes it will be closed, as the rest of the posts from then on are usually spam. If you create a thread in the News & Rumours section of Habbo and it has been posted before it will also be closed. If you have a point to make or it was simply an accident not noticing it was already posted however, is a different matter.

You should then make a thread regarding your point in the Habbo in General section where it will specific to what you wish to discuss rather than making it out to be news that has allready been discoverd some time before.

Lastly, i think you have gone about this the wrong way. A simple question to Moderators or the managers would have aufficed rather than getting irate over it.

I thought you were allowed to bump a thread if it was for a good reason

as if I'm gonna cry about it.

Seriously? Because you could've fooled me.

Was this thread really necessary? Do you expect to gain anything from being so obnoxious and rude? A thread in "Ask the Habbox Staff" would've sufficed. Throwing a tantrum over something so trivial is really unneeded...

You made a thread which was old news, it got locked - justified.
You bumped an old topic, it got locked - justified.

"Use the search tool" is still valid because it means you can read up on old news, but it doesn't need to be bumped because it's old. If a topic has died it's likely to be because it is no longer interesting to anyone, so you don't need to post in it to prove that you've read it or whatever your plan was.

You will get told off for bumping though so what you on about :S If the news has been posted before the latest thread would be closed.

If people bump threads then they will get told off and will be closed.

We've made our minds up and this procedure has been in place for a few years.

However if a (super)moderator/admin has given you minus reputation for the discipline then report it in the approriate thread located in this forum, as they shouldnt of done that!

Uh why even bother to prove a point that the MODs locked a thread...

bit sad really you even took the time to bother. not like it'd help anyone, who posts in a old thread on the same news anyway? its old... :S

You posted in Habbo UK News and Rumors.

You were posting "news". Now, take a look at the word news. News.

Oxford English Dictionary agrees with me, defining it as:

newly received or noteworthy information about recent events

This means that it must be NEW. Your thread was neither new nor recent.

The reason for the don't post old news rule is not to prevent multiple topics on the same subject, the reason for the rule is that if it is old, it is not news.

So old news has no use, bumped or reposted. A little bit of civility never hurt anybody.

Like FJ Said, you can still read things and everything that the mods did was their job so you really have no room to complain. Infact this thread just shows how good the mods are - well done guys! :)

Erm, old news is old news. We don't need to bring it up? If you'd like to discuss old news... make a thread and comment about it in Habbo in General.

It's so simple. :S

I think you're sort of over exaggerating the problem, which I think isn't that bad of a problem.
