Hey I wanted to know what branch of the US Military would you want to join?

I can't decide what branch I want to join. I am stuck between the Marines and the Army.

I think the Marines. I know a couple people who are in the Marines and they are really enjoying their time. I even know of someone in the army who decided to join the Marines as they were finding the army life to be too much for them.

Yea, I get to go see the silent drill team tomorrow. And the Marines are the best to help you join. As for I'm a little overweight. They will work with you and everything. They are also going to help me get my ASVAB score up.

I have an idea for a website. It sounds pretty good. It is a Military forum. It would be a place where people can tell there stories, where people can get help, support, and more. Anything and everything related to the Military. What do you think?

And thank you.

Immenseman
27-02-2009, 03:21 PM
I'm sure a site like that has already been created. I don't know of one because it doesn't interest me but I'd be very surprised if there weren't loads that are already establised and acknowledged.

HabboLive
27-02-2009, 03:23 PM
Yea that's true.

Immenseman
27-02-2009, 03:36 PM
Have you read about all the different options on the internet? There will be peoples stories on there how bad specific branches are etc.

HabboLive

HabboLive

MrGazet

i'm doing public services @ college now but don't intend to go into any of the armed forces, marines is a bit of a joke though they just sail round willy nilly and don't get involved in anything. Haven't for years apart from getting raped and beaten by some pirates and a 8 year old boy

HabboLive
27-02-2009, 04:44 PM
are you stupid?

Marines are the First in and the last out. They have been in every major conflict. And they don't even sail.

Do you even have a clue what the Marines are?

They are Land Sea and Air. That is what the logo of the Marine is. Eagle, Globe, and an Anchor. So please get your facts straight. Also the Marines were the first ones sent to Iraq. So please think before you post something stupid.

It can completely depend on the which unit.

When you look over here in the UK you've got the Royal Anglians who are a very close family regiment. But then compared to one's like the para's there very much more down in it getting the job done.

It changes alot from place to place.

Also on the forum note there are a few already. ARRSE is a good britsh forum.

I have no idea what your talking about Corporal. I do not know anything about UK Military.

But thank you for the reply.

being raped is part of the armed forces, you have to accept it

All of what he said is WRONG. You know that right?

He needs to learn his history if he is in the US. And read up on the Marines and Army.

yes, I was with the marines last week for a start. Marines are also currently with the navy aboard HMS Cornwall doing an operation. Was there last week for the open day chatting to them about it.
I did a training course with the royal marines a few months back too.

HabboLive

Your talking about the UK right Kent? As for HMS Cornwall is a Royal Navy ship. Which I believe is UK right. I'm not sure. I do not live in the UK. And a training course does not make you a Marine really.

BlueEyedSarah

Its not only fighting in war but fighting the Taliban and protecting other places from danger known in their country.

Sorry I was unaware 'marines' meant 2 different things in US and UK (sarcasm)...... And I did the training course, didn't say I was a marine and I'd never want to be

HabboLive
28-02-2009, 02:38 PM
How long is the "training course" that you did?

Mine will be 12 weeks long. +4-5 weeks for AIT.

Immenseman
28-02-2009, 03:56 PM
My mate I'm on about who is doing the course atm I was out with him last night and he was telling me they had to crawl through a crave which was only 12inches high or something lol and all the obstacle courses they have to do like carrying each other on their backs and sprinting. Doesn't sound quite up my street.

Marines sound better from what I hear in this thread. I'd be in the paratroopers cause you'd get to parachute.

You can tell I have a vast knowledge of the military can't you.
