Use a condom. For the pill, I'm not sure how long you have to take it before it comes effective so like I said, use a condom. The morning after pill, you can take up till 48 hours as said.
But, just use a condom. It's the safest way possible besides not having sex.

DON'T just use the pill without any contraception during sex.
Just use a condom, it's the safest way and you can get them free at health clinics etc.

There are two different types of pill the girl can take. For example there is one you have to be taking for a certain period of time before you have sexual intercourse for it to work but it more for people are pretty sexually active with a partner and not a first time thing.
The other one is a pill that the girl can take the morning after, hence it's name. But your best option is to use a condom and then take the pill the morning after or later just to be sure if that is what she wishes to do.

if you know shes clean get her on the pill, haha she has to take it for 7 days before its safe to have sex or just use a condom, easiest to get hold of.
double dutch.
you'll probs want to semi-plan the first time so get her to take the pill then use a condom. if the condom splits then go for the morning after pill just incase.

make sure you get the right sized condom. most people think that size goes on length but its actually the circumference of the widest part. i think it was below 12cm is small, 12-14 is normal, and 14+ is large. Buying the right size condom means that its less likely to split

i love how everyone thinks this fella is going to get STD's if he doesn't use a condom. If he's sleeping around, hmm maybe. But the fact that he and his girlfriend are planning on having sex, and are PLANNING it makes me think that perhaps these two arn't ones who sleep around very often.

The pill needs to have been taken regularly for a few months before sex. The effects of the pill include many other things than just being a contraceptive so it is advised that the girl has had time to get use to the pill as it may cause such things as lighter periods and its possible she wont have it around the same time as she would have without.
You should look up some side-effects of the pill.
The morning after pill is up to 48 hours after sex however it is an EMERGENCY contreceptive as it is borderline prevention/abortion so its not advised.
Do not take 'the pill' instead of the morning after pill as it will not have the same effect and will not act as an emergency contraceptive. Obviousley she should continue use of the pill as normal but it can not be used as a one-off.
Please think about a condom though or even a femidom. If you are both std free and trusting then do think about the pill but until then you should begin with condoms/femidoms.

The morning after pill (also known as plan B) is up to 72 hours - so I have read. It used to be 48 hours but now said it is up to 72 hours. To get this you have to go to the family planning clinic.
For the pill once you start taking it you take it all the time until all the time, most people stop the pill when they want to start having children. I used to take the pill and with my experience I do not reccomend it, it caused me some health issues after a month of taking it.
The best thing in my opinion to use in Condoms. This is good as it will prevent catching anything. You can get condoms at your family planning clinic for free but she will have to have regular checkups from them.
PS: She is unable to go to the family planning clinic unless she is 18+ if you are both under the legal age of sexual consent then you both should not think about having sex with one another - asking about contriceptions makes me know you must not be 18+ so my advice is for you and your girlfriend not to have sex right now until you are both the legal age and have grown more knowledge on protections.

If you have sex before marriage, your penis will fall off and end up in a different dimension, populated entirely by dogs who will eat it!
Use a condom if it's your first time, no point being on the pill just yet. Make sure it's what you both want and that you're ready, sex is a big emotional step for a relationship.

For the pill - lasts about 21 days, can have sex anytime in this, then after 21 days, 7 days of period
Morning after - just the one pill, it works most effective after 12 hours. Only about 70% effective.
The pill is like 99% effective, costs about £20 or free from doctor.
USE A CONDOM for the first time (cheap and effective), keep unprotected for marriage.

Use a condom and if you two are a serious couple ask her would she mind going on the pill, basically what it is is that she takes it once a day or something like that. The morning after pill can be used up to 48 hours after I think as I once had a scare with an ex after she took it one day after sex but it was all good :)

Someone shoot this child.
Believe me I've tried.
Morning after you just take it the "morning after" you have had sex. Just use a condom, theres 99% of it not going wrong anyways.
Use a condom and morning after pill..

dont use a condom
morning after that ****
yeah its like 10000000x better with out a condom but when your going for it and your about to *** then pulling out isnt the first thing on your mind. you just wana thurst to hell then lay down and rest ;0
if your gona go without a condom make sure shes on the pill ;) thats my advice, oh and make sure shes clean aka no sti / std's ;)
Stop acting as if you know all about it. The difference between using one and not using one isn't actually that noticeable. And if your all about the pleasure then go for feather-light as you can hardly tell your wearing one during intercourse. As for not wearing one, as soon as a man gets an erection there are already traces of sperm on the penis, this is why if you try putting on a condom the wrong way round, rather than turning it around and rolling it down you need to throw it away and use another one. As like I said there will be pre-sperm on it. So pulling it out before you ejaculate isn't going to do much as there will already be sperm in the vagina.
And busy, stop calling other people 13 year olds and giving very stupid advice about this. It sounds to me as if you are the stupid 13 year old that knows nothing whatsoever about sex.

I hate using condoms, once the condom came off and it was stuck inside the girls vagina. We contemplated going to the hospital but after a good 30 minutes of "fishing" we managed to find it and get it out. That pretty much killed the mood.

Planned sex, ew? Anyway 'We want to know about the morning after pill' if you're mature enough to have sex be mature enough to use contraception without having to resort to the morning afterpill as a form of contraception because it's not!
id use morning after pill first time, then use pill
without a condom is like x10 times better

People saying 'just use the pill' obviously have no knowledge whatsoever of contraception or how the pill even works.
I'm shocked at this thread.

The morning after pill is up to 48 hours after sex however it is an EMERGENCY contreceptive as it is borderline prevention/abortion so its not advised.
The morning after pill is in no way boarderline abortion.
Some info taken from a leaflet I have at home -
The emergency contraceptive pill is a tablet containing progestogen, a hormone which is similar to the natural progesterone women produce in their ovaries.
It should be taken within three days (72 hours) of having unprotected sex. It is more effective the sooner it is taken.
The emergency pill is most likely to stop an egg being released (ovulation) or delay ovulation. It may also stop a fertilised egg settling in the womb (implanting)
Emergency contraception may stop ovulation, or fertilisation of an egg, or stop a fertilised egg from implanting in the womb. Medical research and legal judgement are quite clear that emergency contraception (the pill or an IUD) prevents pregnancy and is not an abortion. Abortion can only take place after a fertilised egg has implanted in the womb.
However, the leaflet also states -
People who believe life begins when the egg is fertilised may not wish to use the emergency contraception methods outlined in this leaflet
So if that's what you believe then fair enough but in my opinion, in no way is the morning after pill "boarderline abortion" - it's prevention of a pregnancy not elimination of a pregnancy.
I personally do not advise using the morning after pill as a form of contraception. I've taken it about three times and although there is apparantly no danger in taking it many times, it does mess up your periods for a little while after and is less effective the more time you leave between having unprotected sex and taking the pill itself. Also if you happen to vomit two hours after taking the pill, you have to take one again.
Condoms are always the best way to go really, they're really easy to get hold of either from family planning clinics for free or in shops to buy, obviously, but be careful that they don't tear and that you put them on properly.
Although they can interrupt sex and many blokes really don't like wearing them, they protect you from unwanted pregnancies and STI's.

Even so velvet it shouldn't be used just becuase it's there! It encourages teenagers to have unprotected sex and just think "It'll be okay the morning after pill is free".

I never said it should be used just because it's there. If you read my post I advise against using it as contraception.

i want some info.
Me and my GF are planning to have sex, but we want to know what contriception are avalible.
another thing i want to know about is the morning after and "the pill".
For the pill - how long do you take it for?
Morning after - again, how long do you take it for..
I don't know if this has been said but if you can't spell contraception then you should not be having sex.

That is a stupid comment.
And whoever said not using a condom isn't that much different is stupid also.
But yeah, sex is more pleasurable without a condom however a condom is the safest/most effective to use against both STD's and pregnancy.
It's not just the pleasure on your bits you should enjoy, it's the moments of love itself.

I agree with you there. It's hardly any difference, and if it's your first time you might want to keep the 'no condom one' until later on, or perhaps to have something to look forward to when your married.
I would go for extra safe, once I used the (I think it was) those 'tingle' ones, for one; they stank of mint sauce and two; they are so thin. It actually ripped then so me and my gf rang the emergency doctor (it was a Saturday) and were running round the next morning trying to find an open chemists. TBH, it's not worth the stress - Imagine if you did get her pregnant.
Whatever you choose, be safe. The pill (not the morning after pill) is the safest, thee safest and is available free from your doctor, she'll take it straight after her period and continue taking them until they run done. Anytime within those days you can have unprotected sex, at the end she will have a long period (7 days).
If you don't want to be safe, be prepared for consequences. Also, if you only want to do it for pleasure and your not sure about it maybe your (partners) hand might be the best alternative. Sex can be a big deal.

Well I'm not saying it's any different for a guy am I? They don't think it feels any different wearing a condom or not and it doesn't affect their sex but imo there is a difference pleasure wise when someone wears one. (im a girl!!!)

The pills like 7 days init. Well they told me sumit like tht in the clinic.
For Contraception go-to your family planning clinic, or think Clinc or W/E idk wa they called n they'll give you contraception for yourself. And if you don't use contraception then they will give Your GF the pill For free (instead of £25. And yeh as Suzie said it should really happen naturaly. Not like Monday 1st June 2009 at 4:29pm We'll do it.
Have Happy Sex.
Regards.
