Do you listen to any bands that dont sing in english? what do you think about people listening to bands from other countries?. and by foreign i mean bands that dont sing in english.
Just wanted to know what peoples opinions were on this because about 95% of my music is japanese. I think its alot better than the stuff we get now a days imo. But i have people telling me off because "you dont know what there saying" but lots of people listen to rammstein and dont get questioned about it lol.
When i went to the kerrang relentless show had people saying Dir en grey were crap because they didnt speak english ( They were BMTH fans so there opinion to me was void xD ) But When diru came on the whole place was packed. And BMTH didnt even play xD.
Should it matter what languange the song is in or should just be about if the song is good?
Yeah i listen to a lot of foreign music, and it does grip me more and get me more into the song, not sure why, just a bit different than english songs which i like. But i also like english songs, so im pretty much half n half.

I do and I do :P
I enjoyed Rammstein more when I understood they lyrics in fact.
Back on track, yes I listen to a gret deal of foreign bands, I don't know what all of their songs mean, but I try and find a translation occasionally. I have no problem with it, although when people say they lyrics are better and they don't know what they mean (as with so so many weaboos), I get a little peeved.

I occasionally listen to rammstein, but I understand what they're saying as I speak a bit of german.
I do listen to some sort of asian music (I think it's korean) that I don't understand, but the actual music part of it (not the lyrics) is really good, so it makes up for it I guess.

This.
Being a lyricist and not a musician, I care more about the lyrical content in a lot of cases. Of course to actually like the song I need to like the tune too but lyrics are important to me - and I don't mean being obscure and artsy, I mean being able to write WELL.

i loveeeeeee sigur rós. thats about it though.
it depends on the type of music. with sigur rós it doesnt matter cause theyre all about the instrumentation, his voice is basically just another instrument. but ill probably never be able to listen to foreign pop, cause one of the strongest points of pop is the lyrics. ill never be able to listen to foreign rap either, for obvious reasons.

Yeah sigur rós is the only foreign band I listen to. They're amazing, however the lyrics really arn't anything... i don't think.

I fully agree, listening to Rammstein when you understand what they talk about is A LOT better then before hand :D

I listen to Rammstein (and other german bands) because my second language is German.
