Lokuge added two players are receiving treatment in hospital including Samaraweera, who was shot in the thigh.
There are reports former captain Mahela Jayawardene was also hurt in the attack.
Reports also suggest five policemen were killed when the team bus was fired upon by armed gunmen 100 metres from the stadium.
"We were told that there was a shooting incident while the team was on its way to the stadium. The players have returned to the hotel," Lokuge told CNN-INB.

"Two players are still receiving treatment in hospital. Thilan Samaraweera, Ajantha Mendis, Tharanga Paranavitana, Kumar Sangakkara, Thilan Thushara are those that have been injured. Samaraweera is still in hospital, he has been hit in the thigh."

This is a Pakistan with a tighter security... They are in deep ":o" because of a bunch of attention seekers who believe they are more important than the world around them.

Pakistan won't host any sporting events (cricket/football/whatever) for a while. Like Minstrels said, defiantly not co-hosting the world cup in 2011. Might have to be moved to Abu Dhabi now!
Shame for Pakistan's cricketers, cos they're a good bunch of players who deserve to have the chance to play at home.
Shame for Sri Lankan cricketers, who gave Pakistan a chance to redeem itself.
Cricket Australia & Pakistani Cricket Board are in discussions about hosting 2007's tour of Pakistan in a neutral venue (likely to be England...) for 2010.

Not just bad for Cricket, but a bad day for sports in general.

It's done for publicity. The group want to show that no matter how much police they have, they can still kill. Sri Lanka's players could have easily been killed. How can you miss with a rocket launcher?

I did start it, I am arguing my case. However you are also arguing your case, so technically you can not point at me and say I won't let it go when you also will not let it go.
