View Full Version : Stickied Threads
Hello,
For an example: One of my threads gets stickied. Then I think the thread creater (me) should be able to edit it whenever I want to (24/7).
Do you agree?

Yes if only you are updating something on a regular basis.
Such as in the web host section you have a big list of web hosts,

I do not think this is even possible. It is set that all users can edit posts for 15 minutes after it is posted and no longer after that, as that is then a moderator power and above to make edits at anytime. This is so that people do not go back and edit unnecessisarily and break rules or removing evidence.
Not many threads are often stickied that are created by users as it i just not neccesery, although if something did need editing it is easily done by PMing a (Super) moderator as you would not need to edit very often.
I know, but they'd get tired if I like PM them all the time.
Doesn't it work by creating like a new group named like "Stickied Thread Users (:P)", and set permissions to them or somethign?

That would give all users in that group the ability to edit all threads in the section there thread is located and other basic modertion powers.
That would not be implemented i can assure you now as it's part of a moderators job to help you with such things like adding information if you request and i am sure they do not mind providing you are polite and what not. Ad i cannot see a specific usergroup being made just for the add few, when they do not need to edit a thread rarely at all. All you need to do is continue to PM us in my opinion.

I'm sure SMODs won't get too tired of it. Its a small part of their job, and shouldn't occur too often because as Yoshi said there aren't too many stickied threads that need the first post updated loads. When they do need updating its not exactly going to be an arduous task to copy and paste some information from a PM.
Ok. I agree with you nowz :)
Don't think it's a good idea, it will give you more power, and only mods and smods are meant to edit posts and threads.
