Has anyone heard of these types of forum? Apparently they're quite new and I caught my brother on one of these adn it is completely free and in the Beta stage. An example Simple Machine forum is : www.zeldapower.com/forum (my brother looks up games and stuff).

Has anyone heard of these and think it is any good?

EDIT: I am still finding out if any of the things at the top are hacks but I am not sure, I might download one...

The forum looks quite good, I didn't join some of the text was small and hard to read though.

I think that can be changed in the CSS, I feel like downloading one but is there any point?

Yes, i've tried it, quite basic good for a small play around though, i still preffer vB/IPB/PhpBB :)

Yes under fantastico on CPANEL its called SMF


You can go to admincp on it and download packages, enter ftp info into it and it does uploading for you :P

Baord itselfs ok, athogh the acp is a mess, and alot of the bigs dont make much sence.

There are a few nice fetures such as deeper sub forum levels etc, and a announcmennts bit, but over all i prefer other boards "/

I still prefer IBP but I like how they have set everything out, kinda hard to navigate though...

The admin panel is nifty aswell.

You also get password recovery where you imput your email, a question it will ask you and the answer you have to answer. The news bit is cool i have to admit and its not an add on neither, you can assign people to add news which is good.
