Calling all Habbos to support WWF’s Earth Hour 2009. The natural world needs YOU!
Lostie, Pohjola, SoylentBob and I are genuinely worried about the environment and we believe that global warming is a serious threat to everybody.
Because we are passionate about this (and both Lostie and I love the new Nature's Great Events show), we are supporting WWF’s Earth Hour campaign.
But not only are we going to support it, but the WHOLE global Habbo world will also be getting involved.
This is your chance to unite with your Habbo cousins and to take part in the movement.
WWF’s Earth Hour 2009 is aimed at motivating every individual, business and community to switch their lights off for one hour at 8.30pm on Saturday 28th March 2009. Computers, TVs and radios are allowed to be kept on.
WWF’s goal is to engage a billion people worldwide in Habbo and out.
You can join the Earth Hour group page (coming soon) and get a supporter badge. We will also be asking you to take part in our own "turn down your lights" event.
It is all happening at the end of the month. But right now you can make a start by sharing your opinions with us.
Thank you furry much. That's a recycled non-animal environmentally friendly fur btw.

what a great idea to save the planet, lets all turn off some lights and turn on our computers.

Unexpected Mini rant:

What a **** idea.. I'm not going to mention how stupid it is to turn off your lights but leave your tv, radio and computer on (oops, i just did mention it) but it will make no difference even if we turned off everything in the house for a whole day, nevermind an hour.

Even if every house in Britain turned off all our electric, heating etc for a full week it wouldn't matter, because a few factories or a steel works probably just up/down the road from each one of us will make up for it x50, the steel works on the motorway near me is piss taking, you drive past it and the whole sky is black and it smells of eggs.

It's just a load of pretentious crap backed by the people who buy "green cars" and actually thought that music festival they had not long ago was going to make a difference, i love how Goverment and media events like this focus "Global Warming" on being the average household's fault and take away from the actual reasons. Like that stupid advert that tells people to wash clothes at lower temperatures because it's supposed to makes this massive difference to the world.. just so you go out and buy their "specially formulated washing powder for low heat washes" lol. They try put "Global Warming" as our fault for leaving our lights on in the night but when you goto a country like Japan (where i'm originally from), Tokyo is purposely lit up like a christmas tree 24/7.

If I turn my lights off at 8:30 I wont be able to see. Will the WWF fund my compensation claim when I fall down the stairs?

Nice sentiment but a poor idea on the whole. Maybe people turning off any lights at say, 4pm (if they are on) when they probably wouldn't be needed is a better idea.

Are you? Habbo/Sulake obviously isn't. They expect people to do this, when they REWARD people for burning pointless energy to earn a pisstake badge for being on habbo for lengths of time.

Rubbish if you ask me. Why not shut down the hotel for a day, that'll save sooo much :).

Must we be subjected to climate change propaganda 24/7?
