Heya guys.

Its my birthday coming up soon. And I was looking at the 8GB ipod touch.

I was wondering is it worth it, or should I buy another type of mp3/4 player?

Are the games good, is it easy to access all the music, videos, games, movies?

And is it worth the money?

Any other advice/tips on it?

How much does the music/games usually cost.

I know you can get some games free, but im not sure about the music. Are we talking 50p-£1?

If you have the money to spend.. In the USA they are $0.99 a song.

Games are usually between $0.99 and $9.99

Anyone getting an iPhone 3G is picking up a good clearance deal whilst also being foolish because the new ones are right around the corner :P

The latest ipod touch (2G) has a volume button on the side, internal speaker, and loads of other differences.

You don't need an iPod Touch until you get one, none of the applications are really worth buying, you think you need them and once you've got them you wonder how you can live with out them but really, this comes from a non-iPod Touch user, you don't need them.

If you want gaming, get a Sony PSP or Nintendo DS. If you want music then there's far better value for money iPods or alternative brands.

They're no way worth it I'm afraid and I personally believe you've all been brain-washed.

Yeah, I have one and imo its only worth it for browsing the net on WiFi. I only use mine for iPlayer and YouTube, and the occasional web browsing. The applications are all stupid gimmicks most of the time, and there are far better MP3 players out there. I prefer to use my phone to listen to music rather than this peice of ****.

Its good, but not the big deal people make it sound like it is :( Its main selling point as far as I'm concerned is the Apple logo on the back, and of course the fact its named 'iPod' :/

For an all round device, its pretty good, but for music? There is better.

Also, dont get me started on the crappy headphones that come with it. I have a pair of £1.49 headphones from Ebuyer which I bought to last me through until I could buy some decent ones, but even the £1.49 ones have 100x better sound quality than the pair that comes with the iPod! And dont Apple charge about 20 quid for those?

Apple headphones are brilliant, only poor sound quality is the external speaker on the touch.
