I swear, you guys are so insensitive!

First of all I get loads of jokes coming through on my phone about her DEATH, then I find a site which offers a free iphone to the person who guesses her hour and date of death, not to mention all of the posts I've read even on here ranting on about this poor woman!!

I'm getting quite ****** off with Jade Goody. I know she is dying, its a crappy situation and everything, but many other people go through the exact same situation and you don'y see the press go crazy. She hogs the spotlight and it ******* annoys me that the media covers her EVERY MOVE

Do you have any idea how much attention her situation is bringing to cervical cancer?

You may not know the full situation, but when she was about 16 she had some problems 'down there', got some tests done and it came back with an abnormal cell count... But she decided to ignore it. Cervical cancer is the most... 'hopeful' cancer to have as it is contained and therefore easy to remove, but because she ignored it, it got to the point where the tumour was the size of a rugby ball and it broke past the lining and spread throughout her blood stream, onto her liver etc. making it terminal.

But the most horrible thing is that, if she didn't ignore it and got it sorted out, she would be all well and healthy today as it would have been controllable and easy to treat..

So, getting back to my point, this story has really influenced people to take action and not push these things to the back of their minds. The other day my dentist asked me what I thought about the situation, I told her, and she popped out of the room for 5 minues and when she came back she told me that she had had some tests herself, received results of an abnormal cell count and hearing that made her go and book an appointment for a swab test.

She may be milking the press attention, but if you were about to die with 2 young children, would you not want to do as much as possible to ensure them secure future?...

I am perfectly aware that there are thousands of people throughout the world going through the same thing, but I think it would be a crime for her not to take advantage of her celebrity status and spread awareness just like all of those suffering would want to!!

I really, really do admire her and I'm sick of all of these rants, its disgusting.

I'm not really concerned with the husband to be honest... We all know that the marriage was purely a money-making scheme for the money for her kids' future and he won't get a penny of her 'fortune'... I also do think that it was admirable for him to marry her for that reason as he's going to be a 'widower' for the rest of his life now and marriage is such a huge thing

My view is that the media should stop covering it. Many people have to go thorugh cancer each day, and she's only famous because she was racist (not because she was on big brother, that isn't famous really, its crap).

That's my opinion, deal with it. Sorry to be blunt but so many people have gone on about Jade Goody, it bugs me every day I read the paper and shes on the front page. And don't say 'read another paper then' because:

I should have the right to read whatever paper I choose
Shes on every front page of every british newspaper!!

I'm just going to speak my mind here: I'm sure many of you will disagree and dislike my comment, but I'm just going to be honest. I'm not particularly bothered that she's going to die. As horrible as it sounds, it's the truth. I imagine that the media (magazines and papers) have been making a lot of money out of this, with the exclusive pictures and interviews. For some people her dying has earned them money. Also, she rose to fame from Big Brother, which, in my eyes, shouldn't give you special treatment or class you as a 'star'. Many people are dying (of the same thing) everyday, some in even worse situations (maybe it's a woman who's pregnant and dying or something), yet nobody cares because they don't know. Just like nobody would care about Jade Goody if she hadn't become 'famous'.

It dominates the news(papers) ever so much, I don't tend to read the newspaper on a regular basis, however when I do Jades face is always on the front page.

Just the truth. Many people are afraid to speak the truth on matters such as these because of other peoples opinions against their own.

It is sad, but that's life.

like bef said, they've got 8.5 million already and some people don't even have that in a lifetime, their dad has a good paying job too i'm guessing so isn't that enough for them? they're gonna have everything given to them on a plate and sureeee their mum is gone but there is no excuse for it.

Okok, first of all, I could've sworn I've said this before but she is a mother! She can do absolutely nothing for them in the future - be there during hard times and give them motherly support... The only thing she can do right now is use her 'fame' (however cheap it is) to get them money for the future... It may sound all superficial but its literally the only thing she can do for them! And surely any mother would do just that, get as much as possible and do their best if they had the opportunity, I don't get how you don't all see that?...

yupppppp i know, she's doing a great job and i think she's a great mother, i really do! & she should be doing them for sentimental value. EXACTLY MY POINT DEAR she's got MARRIED for MONEY and got christened? LOL. she's trying to be all close to God and she does that, acts as though marriage isn't a big deal???!!!! good one :)!! that's seriously the only thing i'm pissed off with and the fact she's constantly in the spotlight, & yes it's all for her sons yakablabhalhb but there is other ways, raising money. Money doesn't make everyone happy, aslong as her sons have a decent future (HMMM I'M SURE THE 8.5 MILLION SHE ALREADY HAS COULD COME IN HANDY) and are happy then greattttttttt but going over the top just because she can isn't fair and i've just realised this and have felt sorry for her for so long but now it's really annoying!

I disagree with you basing your argument on the fact that it's raising awareness. Fair enough it may be, but cervical cancer is already pretty well recognised with this new jab etc. I have yet to see how she has directly promoted awareness of it other than having it. I don't see articles pointing out the dangers of cervical cancer in relation to Jade Goody, I see articles every day with misleading headlines about her children giving her flowers as she sleeps in a hospital bed. Utter crap if you ask me.
As for protecting her kids' future, she's done a good job protecting them, legally binding them to a twice prosecuted violent offender who digs for gold on weekdays.
I'm not promoting her death, I just think this is all crap.

She has cancer she could have got it sorted out but anyway thats not the point.
If someone in your town/village/city had cancer and they only had weeks to live you would not laugh would you? Cant you give her a break she has tried her best to provide for her children.
Its because she is a celebrity and has done wrong in he past but you shouldnt wish death on anyone they do not deserve it. So next time when a celebrities on the death bed with cancer do not mock and jeer because they are just like us they live breathe and have lives.

It's not funny, grow up :/ Yes it's a bit too public, but what do you expect? Wouldn't you want to know what happens during the stages of someone who has been in the eyes of the public recently, and then suddenly getting cancer and her world is slowly getting worse? That's what the media has done and the Jade Goody story has gotten very quiet since the wedding, with only a few stories and some information about what has happened since, without it being thrusted in your face.

urghh no-ones even asked for her to get cancer, infact i wish she didn't get it then i wouldn't have to listen to news bout her all the time. my gran 2 aunties n uncle died of cancer so yer i know what it's like but that doesn't mean i can't say she should keep OUT of the media and get on with her life does it????????

It's not hard to ignore it :/ I only ever get it thrusted upon me by the imbesiles making jokes and the select few going crazy about how annoying it is. It's not even that widely covered, only front page and 2 to 4 pages in a most newspapers with well over 20 pages of other stuff anyway. And she's one of these media types who pretty much ride the media wave, she got on it. After this it'll be something else less interesting, and a subject that people are not going to argue about for the sake arguing.

I'm not, it was purposeful to cause controversy and make a point: people don't like it when someone who they've known and has/had cancer gets insulted for it. It's not my fault that people can't seem to grasp the concept that celebrities are in the media eye much more than an average person, otherwise they wouldn't be a celebrity.

I can understand wanting to get lots of money for your children, but when they have that much money they can live of that for life - milking her illness (and she is milking, she admits she wants more publicity for her kids) isn't needed.

If anything, all this extra cash that's coming in from the publicity shoudn't go to a trust fund for her kids, it would be better suited for a charity for cancer.

i think it'll get cancer on people's minds a bit more but not for all that long. people have short attention spans. lance armstrong (a really famous bicyclist here in the u.s., idk if you guys know him) had testicular cancer about 10 years ago or so, and it was a really big deal for a while. in the early 00's he made those "livestrong" bracelets and got millions donated to cancer research, and the whole bracelet idea took off and everyone was copying it. but since, everyone's kinda just forgot about it.

its nice what the lady is trying to do, it really is, but people forget that kind of stuff really fast. it all comes down to personal responsibility, really.

Unfortunately, a lot of people out there get a kick out of reading up on her horrible ordeal, so the press see the money spinner and get in on it as much as possible! I, personally, hate even the pictures on the front of the magazine as it does get me really upset, but for some people this crap really sells

Yes, but why should her children get anything? Yeah she wants the best for them, but they're just going to become lazy when they get older, and will never have to work for anything. I don't think they should get more than a million. That's enough for them, and the rest to go towards cancer research.

i think she did enough for her kids by being a racist cow over national televsion, that said i still think she's a great mother from what i've seen, the money should be split and some more given to charity

I'm not saying that she shouldn't give some of the money to charity, I do disagree with that. However, at the end of the day I don't hate her for it or call her a greedy cow... This is the only thing she can do for her kids' futures now as she's not gonna be there... Due to her own decisions and actions - that must be such a horrible feeling :S

And Jen, about the 'racist cow' comment, I don't believe that she was racist... I think the whole thing was twisted by the press to seem like racism. It was bullying... Which is just as bad. Shilpa's a stunning woman, Jade isn't exactly the best looking of the bunch, it was a lot of jealousy.

However, people do make mistakes, her being national and therefore 'unforgivable', either way, she doesn't deserve to die

You may not know the full situation, but when she was about 16 she had some problems 'down there', got some tests done and it came back with an abnormal cell count... But she decided to ignore it. Cervical cancer is the most... 'hopeful' cancer to have as it is contained and therefore easy to remove, but because she ignored it, it got to the point where the tumour was the size of a rugby ball and it broke past the lining and spread throughout her blood stream, onto her liver etc. making it terminal.

But the most horrible thing is that, if she didn't ignore it and got it sorted out, she would be all well and healthy today as it would have been controllable and easy to treat..

So, getting back to my point, this story has really influenced people to take action and not push these things to the back of their minds. The other day my dentist asked me what I thought about the situation, I told her, and she popped out of the room for 5 minues and when she came back she told me that she had had some tests herself, received results of an abnormal cell count and hearing that made her go and book an appointment for a swab test.

She may be milking the press attention, but if you were about to die with 2 young children, would you not want to do as much as possible to ensure them secure future?...

I am perfectly aware that there are thousands of people throughout the world going through the same thing, but I think it would be a crime for her not to take advantage of her celebrity status and spread awareness just like all of those suffering would want to!!

I really, really do admire her and I'm sick of all of these rants, its disgusting.

Why would she? You do realise people like Jade ride the public wave? She's been doing it since Big Brother... I don't know what's more worrying, the fact you can't ignore her newspaper articles (which everyone can) or the fact you don't know how Jade Goody has gotten herself known in the public eye. Yeah, for doing nothing amazing other than starring in Big Brother and getting involved in racial arguments, but that still makes her an interest to some people, usually the mothering generation, which surprisingly are quite interested by her story. Maybe it's because her story is so controversial it's something the media must attack and squeeze out every juicy detail about her. She's just doing the decent thing and allowing them, to hopefully get something back for her childrens future - whether that is true or not, no-one will know for quite some time, if ever!

It's not hard to ignore anything about her :/ Some people obviously have nothing better to do or just love a good over-reacting session :rolleyes:

Using all these "everyone dies" arguments against whoever uses them, then why can't you physically control yourself not to pay any attention to her? The lack of self-control with some people is totally shocking :S Just ignore any Jade Goody articles and stop digging for something to gossip about, lowering yourself to a petty status doesn't make anyone look good :/

Indeed, maybe it's the controversy of all these "I hope she dies on Mother's Day" comments that are making her seem so annoying but at the same time popular. At first it was interesting, then people got annoyed, then people get incredibly rude and slightly disturbing, which could lead to arguments like this, with some people lacking self-control to just not pay any attention (the types that look at The Sun complaining about there always being an advert in the back for that unsold, unwanted car, because obviously they're like that with the lack of self-control some people have shown, in this forum and else where) and some hating the fact these people just keep moaning and being rude about it while feeling some concern for her and some interest behind her story.

No one is asking for a "second thought", it's the media and her publicist sponging the situation for as much as they can while she is most likely a third party. It gets published because she is famous. People shave their heads everyday, why is Britney so special? People go clubbing everyday, why are Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan so special? People take drugs everyday, why are Kate Moss and Amy Winehouse so special? Jade Goody is stupid. The idea of doing magazine deals for money was probably suggested to her rather than one of her own ideas.
