I dunno what version you downloaded but WLM 2009 (14.0.xxxx.xxx) is not BETA anymore.

Should be noted that if you use XP/Vista, msn will force you to update to the newest version from anything under v8.5. What you need to do therefore is run it in compatibility mode with Windows 2000.
