View Full Version : How do you do a WEP key on a router?

Like i need help cause people keep connecting to my belkin router.

Erm i think when you install it on your computer by CD, there should be a code at the end of the registation i think.
Not to sure yet or it might be on the modem/router.

I can give you vague by vague instructions, I don't have a belkin router so I can't tell you exactly!

type 192.168.2.1 into your address bar in the browser of your choice. when it asks for the login and password type "admin" and "password". Then in the menu that comes up flick through the menu options until you come to something that talks about security. Activate WEP and set a password and you should be good to go.

I highly recommend you use a stronger encryption like WPA2. WEP can be broken in a few seconds.

Do you want WEP specifically for any reason, like having a DS or something that needs it? If you don't, use WPA2. I believe that has fewer boxes too :P

I'm sure a WPA/WPA2 will work just aswell and is more secure.
