View Full Version : How to get teeth whiter
Without paying for anything, how can I get my teeth whiter?
My dentist has a go, and I do clean them around 1-2 times a day, depending if its a weekend or not, but I need them to get whiter and I need some ideas how to occupy meself for the 3 minutes so I dont get bored.
Thanks
Try a toothpaste that makes them whiter?
Mouthwash?

Actually clean them...
Oh wow, that sucked for a joke.
Anyhow, play a song around 3minutes on your ipod what ever. Mosh out to it, super clean.
Also you can use whitening toothpaste, but always brush, twice to three times a day! Floss also. A electric toothbrush of good quality is a +++
brush them after every meal. also floss. if you get bored brushing them then try and think about doing it lol? as in o have i missed a spot? shall i press harder lol? idk?

I know you dont want to spend money but they do a mini trial kit at the pharmacy, its not expensive, and last for abotu a week. Theres 3 steps to it works x
Baking Soda, 1/3 times a week but make sure you use normal toothpaste to protect your enamel.

If you just brush them more often they look whiter after a while. It's not something to worry about - if it gets to you that much just get them whitened 'professionally'. I know quite a few (2) people who had theirs whitened after they got their braces off.

Dont eat food like curry at the weekend if you only clean them the once as curry can stain them i think, keep brushing well and dont smoke :P!
Get crest strips, I have them and used them for ages.
Just put them on and white instantly :D
Although I do pay €50/60 £35/50 for a box... but its worth it
I heard eating apples whitens teeth abit
All I could think of is brush them a lot. Use toothpaste and toothbush.

Using a toothbrush is probably a good idea :P ;)! I know Boots do a teeth whitening scheme as mentioned above, you pay a fixed amount and they supply you with appropriate products and consultations which should improve your teeth. If you want them perfect though, it's gonna cost $$$!

Exactly..three thousand pounds is pretty cheap 4 teeth to be whitened however if you want them to b spot on and whitened using lazers you'll be going into tens of thousands of pounds.
Ye schemes are good with like boots >;]

the funny thing is i've brushed mine to much/hard and i've slightly decolorised my teeth :P. any advise
You have to pay to get white teeth.
Pearl/Perl drops, It's like gritty toothpaste but I can't remember if you put it on before you use your ordinary toothpaste or after. But they do help!

Just brush regular. It will take a while but you need to brush atleast twice a day, ideally three or four after meals and only drink water/fruit juice at meal times.

i think it all depends where you get it done from and how you get it done.
i mean places around the uk vary from prices..often cheaper up north than south for example.
i also had mine lazered..not bleached. :)
Edit:
i just found this on a site which explains;
How much does laser teeth whitening cost?
Costs can vary depending upon the area of the country you live in and the type of whitening treatment you undergo. Laser teeth whitening is typically over £1000 - £5000. for the complete procedure.
Generally speaking, the price of teeth whitening increases with the number of in-office treatments required by the patient. Dental insurance does not typically cover the cost of the teeth whitening procedure."

I use this stuff and it works really well! It makes your skin peel inside your mouth, and mainly on your lips, and it feels disgusting but I asked my dentist (today actually, as I was there for a check up) if it's bad and she said,
"No, most strong toothpastes do that but they're okay to use. But if you get sore gums after using them I suggest you stop straight away."
But yeah. Works wonders tbh - I've tried pearldrops before but they're not as good imo. They do burn the enamel off your teeth I think, but heh - any sort of whitening of the teeth is the burning of the enamel, that's just how it works.

-Baking soda is apparently really good, but probably tastes horrible.
-You could use a straw to drink coffee, wine, fizzy drinks etc. Using a straw will stop the drink contacting with your front teeth too much.
-Rub your teeth with orange peel! This ones probably a wives tale because my Grandma told me it =P

I use Pearl Drops Tooth Whitner (Toothpaste) and Colgate Tooth Whitner (Toothpaste) and Listerine Mouthwash. It works within 2 weeks.
You do know you can over brush them?
Two times is the best, but three is stupid really.
And after every meal, your just brushing off the enamel which helps your teeth.
Just stick to two times a day, and mouthwash, or get a specail whitening toothpaste from like your local store or something. (:
