Remember those old DragonBall Z episodes a few years back. If you do then they are making a new movie based on the episodes :) It comes out April 8th

They didn't make a movie based on Dragon Ball Z, they made a movie based on Dragon Ball. Yes, there is huge difference between both series. Although no one will be able to tell because they screwed up the plot so much. Dialogue from the trailer looks terrible, and the actor playing Goku is so bland and such a bad choice. He acts the opposite of how Goku should. Nothing about this movie looks good, except some of the female actresses who look pretty sexy. Nevertheless, it's going to be absolutely rubbish, but I'll go see it anyway... for a laugh.

AnimeNewsNetwork.com destroyed the movie, haha. Look what they said about it...

In the end, it all boils down to one thing: this movie appeals to nobody. It was made for no one. People who aren't familiar with the Dragon Ball story at all will be so flabbergasted by what's happening that they will likely tell everyone they know that it's one of the worst movies they've ever seen. Fans who do know what the general story is will be furious at just how unbelievably badly they screwed this entire thing up. Kids are used to better writing than this in their weekday afternoon cartoons (although you may run into a kid who has never actually seen a movie before, and they might dig it until you show them another movie). It's a clunky, tiresome, badly executed, horribly written pile of shame that deserves no quarter. In short, it's as bad as the fans said it would be.

Pros: Might be fun when you're hammered and surrounded by friends. Or suicidal, and need something to push you over the edge.

Big dragonball fan. Not wasting any money in suppourting this xD not even gonna download it.

Off the top of my head. (Wont make sense if your not familuar with the series)

- Movie is based on DB but they mention saiyans etc which was in Z
- No krillin, Puar, Oolong, Has yamcha tho.
- Shenlong dosent talk when summoned
- Acting is very bad
- Goku is in school.. Hate when they try to americanise movies.

Save your money people. dont even go see if for a laugh. They said if it does well they will make a sequel.. so if it dosent do well then no sequel :D Then they dont ruin dragonball for me.

The inevitable truth is though... it most probably will do well. :P

What surprises me is that Akira Toriyama actually gave them permission to make this movie... and he's actually backing it! In an interview with Tite Kubo (creator of Bleach) he was aksed what his "dream cast would be for a live action Bleach movie" and his reply was "If it were possible to do Bleach as a live action movie, then I wouldn't have drawn the manga. I want to draw something that can only be done as manga." He knows whats right!

You can hope, but theres no way that'll ever happen. Dragon Ball was never meant for live action, and especially Hollywood.

Thank god. That makes me happy. Although the sequel has already been greenlit so it doesn't actually matter... I heard it was the worst movie ever made from my friends who dared to poison their eyes by watching it. I'm not going to go see it, and I'm not even going to glimpse at it when it's released on DVD. I never want to even look at it. I don't want to be tainted.

Havn't seen the movie yet but when i saw the trailer it was seriously let down.. and trailers usualy have the best bits... just think about what the rest of the movie will be like..

Yes, everyone does have their views, and it just so happens that everyones views have come together to make up the nice score of 3.2 out of 10. No. This is IMDb we are talking about. Most of the ratings were probobly put into place well before the movie even came out, with stupid fanboys having sads over it becoming a movie. It happens to a lot of movies on the site.

Gah i got a - rep from someone for saying what i thought in here =/ sad act didnt even leave there name. anyway.

The movie sucks. Lots of movie sites and critics have all given it a bad review. Lots of fans have said the movie is bad. The people that have seen the film said it was bad. Its that bad people dont even want to see it.

When the trailer was 1st shown in a event in japan the response was everyone laughing at it. Yes theres going to be the small % of people that enjoy it but the fact that theres a lot more people saying it was bad obviously means its bad.

I would have prefered a cgi movie. that way we would have still had the characters likeness and there voices. somethings just dont suit being live action.

When i heard they were going to be doing this film, i was really excited.
I used to love Z when i was younger, but like everyone else, when i saw the trailor i was disappointed.

imo, they have ruined what was a good cartoon ;(
i was excited about the film at first, because i thaught it was gunna be good.
but it looks like a letdown....waste of time and money.
