I got a letter through the door from the NHS this morning & I'm finaly getting a course of medication for Crohn's disease. I get steriods which make me puff up like a baloon, but, considering I've lost two stone i'll look normal and not so disformed. I'm currently in pain with my bowels, everytime I eat I get a cramp on the left which is really painful. It's like having a fat man jump up and down on your lower stomach. I don't know why, but when I'm sleeping (which is hardly ever, because I can't get to sleep with the pain) I sweat, alot. I usually wake up soaked in sweat and that's tiring & very disgusting. Seriously, if your ever diagnosed with Crohn's disease I have the greatest sympothy for you, it's debilitating & it ruins your life, up until treatment. (Or so I hope)

I've been out of school for three months, I'm hoping to return after medication and after the easter holidays, which, is a little pointless considering I come off on study leave a few days later. ;)

Final note; Crohn's disease = Bad.

I'm going to be on something called Prednisolone, I don't know if it's good or bad though. :(

Congrats on getting it, I've had a quick wizz through the information on Prednisolone, it's fine, however there are a few minor side effects which you should look through when you are prescribed with the medicine, as there is with all medicines.

Good luck on the course, hope it helps you.

Cheers guys, I'm feeling all tingly inside. :P

I hope I don't become too fat while on this medication, it usually puffs you out a bit, but I'm currently an unhealthy six stone & I'm fairly small. Hopefully I'll return back to my normal weight and look alright.
