the idea of earth hr is just to turn off household lights. closin down the forum aint gonna do anything

It's more of turn off your lights than close down websites :)

Don't think anyone remembers but this is what Google means by lights out, they did it last year for a small amount of time.

They just want the website to be 'darker' in an attempt to bring peoples attention to the environment and the Earth. It happens later today so it's probably a bit late to do anything.
