I think banks only take £5 worth of change nowadays anyway..
I'd suggest what somebody else said, get a big glass bottle or something, put your change in there, when its considerably full, Change it in at the Coinstar things at Asda :D
I used one today because I saved like £40 in 5ps in a Jack Daniels Bottle :eusa_danc

I've got a coin sorting machine... Got it from Argos. You just stick the coins in and it'll sort them out. You'd have to empty the parts that collects the money quite often though, I think the 1p part will store something like 50 1ps. But that was a really cheap one. It broke though, because a penny got lodged somewhere, and I can't get it out and the thing won't work :(

I have a ****** one I got in argos I think. Cause it measures the coin width if you don't apply enough pressre when you push the coin in it pops back out and the money still registers. >:l
Not worth your money imo.

No you get a voucher from a machine which you hand at the kiosk where you get the money (well that's what happens near us)

Exactly what I was going to say. Plus they're incredibly annoying to be near when someone is using one :P
