Won it for the first time last year with Comply or Die. Have no interest in horse racing whatsoever, but will probably have a good read of some sites this evening to see who they're tipping. The blonde horse racing bird from last year I think also said that horse, so went for that horse for that reason as well.

Throne Sofa... The woman said back Comply or Die because he was the favourite and in form. Hes out at 20/1 this year though.
Last year I had a tip on an outside 'Butlers Cabin'. He fell on the second to last fence. He is racing this year, and is currently second favourite. So Im gonna have a punt on him again.
On the other hand. The legendary Ruby Walsh is going with 'My Will', who is now the clear favourite. Plus its number 11 (my lucky number). Must be fate! So I might have a small bet on him too.

I think L'ami is in with a chance. Good stable horse. Im surprised that its out at 25/1. Its one of the more likely to finish.

I think it's a bit cruel in a way, horse racing. Apparantly the horses like running, but they fall over and stuff sometimes don't they? And if they fall and break their leg they get shot :(

Oh get out.
Ofcourse they like running, if they didn't they wouldn't keep running after their jockeys have fallen off - as demonstrated a number of times in the National today.
OMG.. My mum accidentally bet on the winner :/
She marked the wrong one lmao.
Yay, turns out ive won my money back :D
£1 each way lol
she was meant to do 4 down 4 across (4/4) for my dad but marked the wrong one.. she didnt realise until after she placed the bet lmao

I don't think it said anywhere on this thread what specifics about the Grand National posters were permitted to discuss.

Okay whatever, they like running, they enjoy it. I still think on some levels horse racing can be cruel. Many of the horses dislike being forced into the stalls prior to the race and are made to wear blinkers so they are blinded to what they are doing.
I'm probably going to get attacked on this forum again by some jumped up fourteen year olds but I don't particuarly care. Bring it.

On NO level is it cruel.
It has a choice whether to run or not, it's bigger than a man is.
BUT STILL, this is Sports & Hobbies not bloody debates, go there if you want to take your pathetic argument. This thread is bout THE GRAND NATIONAL and not your stupid idea that it's cruel.

Can I just say this forum is not a dictatorship, people can openly discuss their views and opinions on whatever subjects they like, we don't need to people telling other people that they can't discuss or give views on certain things because that is simply not fair and you do NOT own the forum :).

So I can go into a thread asking whether Pizza is good and talk about the production of bread? No.
This thread is about the Grand National, your bets and who won, not whether horse racing is right or wrong. There's specific areas of the forum for that discussion as this thread is not one of them. Idiot.

Debating whether horse racing is right or wrong is part of the sports section as it's debating whether the sport is cruel or not? and this thread for a matter of a fact because it's about horse racing, so really it's still in line with the discussion of the grand national.
And I think you'll find betting is not part of the sports section, because 95% of the people who comment in this section are not even old enough to bet.
IDIOT.

YES, THEN MAKE ANOTHER BLOODY THREAD! This thread is about the GRAND NATIOANL and betting on the GRAND NATIONAL. NOT BLOODY HORSE CRUELTY. MAKE A NEW THREAD!!!

Horse racing is part of the Grand National, and people are debating whether horse racing is cruel or not... so, really - it does have a right to be discussed and debated in the sports section.
And you're so big using capital letters, is that another part of your plan to be a dictator of the sports section? :( use capitals so it looks like that you speak over everyone, aww bless you.
Get over yourself :).
Skajo

I never said it didn't have a place in the sports section, I said it doesn't have a place in this thread.
i think the use of capitals is portraying anger at how ridiculous you are sounding.
The sports section is for discussion of sports, not discussion on morals and if its PC to race them. Open a thread in members debates, thats the whole point of that forum if you havnt realised.

It does have a place in this thread as it's about the Grand National, which is horse racing.
So people can discuss anything from the Grand national to horse racing in general, and if people feel it is cruel then they have a rite to express their views and opinions.

ok so if you go on that basis. i can go from grand national, to horses, to brushing them, to combing my hair, to shampoo, to a brand, to multi national companies and then too whether its right or wrong. No it doesnt work like that. The thread starter said Tomorrow. Whos betting. Not Tomorrow. do you like horses? They wanted to know whos betting on them. Its not a case of whether youre old enough or not, it was a question.
you do have a right to express them, but posting off topic isnt a way to do that. open a thread and then post them..
@creative, i dont know if you were being rude or not lmao, im assuming not

im sure a mod would warn me if i was postibg off topic tbf, so what you're saying is totally irrelivant?
no not really, if they havnt seen ti yet then they wont warn, or if no one reports the post. just make a thread and use that one for discussion :/
Anyway, still dont believe my mum won like, £70 :/ ..
