Some of the comments on the habbox.com news reports are not acceptable.
An example of this is in the April fools joke report. Sometimes people advertise scam sites or insult habbox and it's staff, and I don't think it reflects well on the website itself.
I have been told that only admins can delete rude comments on reports, but I think news reporters should be able to as well.

Really should have PM'd this to your manager :P

The problem with this is news reporters could delete the comments that they didn't like, for example one's saying the article is written badly or they don't care, all of which are valid (ish) comments but might offend the news reporter. Providing the manager has the time to do it, its best to keep those sorts of permissions high up imo.

Alex is right when Reporters were able to do it or (back then) Articles writers were able to they were removing any negative comment whatsoever. If your manager has said that only admins can do it then I am sure there is good reason for that.

Maybe if you send a link to the offending reports to your manager, he can pass them on.

About a year and half ago I remember one article being flooded with spam links to pornography sites. Some of the link names looked really disturbing, the moderation of comments should be improved.

It's always been a problem. Either immature people claiming 'first post' with nothing constructive, or I remember when I was a reporter posting a real life topic and there were a few racist comments to it. Unless you intergrate the forum names (or accounts) with the ability of being able to post on the news, you can't do much about it. Unless not allowing people to post at all- instead re-directing them to a discussion thread on the forum.
