Let's change some things about Runescape section.

Yeah, over the last 2 months I've attempted to become part of the Runescape section. Now, if you've ever been on the Runescape section you'll know what I'm talking about in this thread. These people that own the section think they have the right to do anything they want.

Well, there was someone called zjc who thought he could come on and attack me verbally, he got banned. This sparked about 10 other members to target out my posts, make fun of my threads, and -rep me over and over again for no good reason. So I'm just reporting posts that I feel offensive, and another well respected Runescape forum member gets banned.

Finally the forum quiets down. But then zjc comes back and is making stupid spam posts, threads that make fun of my threads, and all around bullcrap. Technically he's really not breaking any forum rules, it just depends on how it looks.

So anyways, what should be done with this section? First off, I have never seen a Runescape Section Moderator close a thread or comment on a post. It's only the SMODS who actually do something. I think we should get some more moderation in that section. Second, if the Runescape section is going to be kept, I think that we shouldn't be able to gain post count from posting in there, as 3/4 of the crap posted is spam. Last, I think some more heavy rules should be placed on the section. Getting more of these people warned/banned would possibly tell other users not to be an ass in that section.

I have seen some good users try to post threads, and we have got some good replys! But most of the time the thread is ruined with spam posts, crap from one of the members, or arguing.

So:

No Post Count.
More Moderation.
Stricter Rules.
I suppose I'll be flamed for this, but we need a new thread since the other one was destroyed by what I'm saying here :P

Well making this thread was a mistake as this is just going to make people think your a wannabee mod whateverr basically this section has died it had its glory day and now its gone and this section is no longer really cared about by the habbox community.
But if u want to be a part of this so called section u have to learn and notice a few things most of the time when people say things they arnt being serious there is no need for you to try take the high ground and look superior or technically correct because really it will only lead people to dislike you.
If your getting flamed at the moment take the flaming in a jokingly manor instead of reacting like i will report your posts yadayada because there frankly is no point and the moderators of this section dont seem to pay much attention. and it will just lead to more flaming

zjc probably thought he could get away with it because there's so much ******** posted in there it's as though it's acceptable. I don't even use Runescape but I used to read the threads in there cause they were funny now it's just mindless nonsense like "hi i need a shave." What's the point on that? I've had to report so many threads/posts in there before..

I haven't seen a thread in there for ageeeees that's been friendly, on topic or even relevant to Runescape so it needs to be stricter in there really or there shouldn't even be a forum for it as it is what you just said spam really. I'm not sure how many mod in there but it needs sorted, i've seen so many complain about you posting in there and it's annoying because I've spoken to you and you're very mature when handling with things. Thing is I just think everyone in there needs to grow up a bit. It's been alright recently actually, all you need to do is keep reporting pointless/rude posts and don't even retaliate, obviously it's annoying when people ruin your threads or are rude, just leave it and carry on with what you want. It'll annoy them but they can't do anything else than through around stupid insults. I'm in favour of more moderation and Stricter Rules, it seems like most mods focus elsewhere and this is left unnoticed. I agree that it's only SMODS you see, I've seen Robbie! close some threads but that's about it =/ it does need sorted.

The best thing that can happen to that section is to close it. It's impossible to moderate because the whole userbase (I wish I was exaggerating) think it's funny to post mindless rubbish and it's even hinted at that that might be wrong they all throw their dummies out of the pram and start crying and threatening not to use the section any more. If they stop using it and go elsewhere the section will be dead which means it'll be closed eventually, why not cut out the middle man and get it over with?

i've been posting there for almost 4 years now on many different accounts, i've seen alot happen there, like back when the runescape section and the "off-topic" section hated eachother for no reason at all.

although it was best when all of the runescape forum mods actually played the game so they knew what was pointless and what wasn't but these days nothing gets done because noone can be bothered to report 200 posts a day. It is full of spam and jc does think he owns the place but who cares? it's just a forum.

If you don't have mates there then noone cares about you at all. also it's full of bum lickers, like it always has been. Major contradiction on your part there. There are only a few quotes from each person there, I'm sure plenty could be found for you. (see my earlier post, they were found in 2 threads)

The majority of the posts you quoted were off-topic and included a few from each members in plenty of threads. You are just as bad as them, probably worse. As I said before, go back a couple of pages and look at the quotes from you from about 2 threads. (I don't have enough time on my hands to scour through 10 threads to find a couple for each member)

As many people have previously said, I think the problem is you. The whole 'hostile environment' and 'bullying' has only really started since you have been making threads like this and making smart remarks. You joined the forum 2 moths ago, and have never previously posted in the section before that. You wouldn't know what it was like before. It's certainly not as bad as it has been.

removing the post count in the runescape section isn't going to solve the problems it will just make the situation worse, most people who post in the runescape section are not bothered about post count and dont just post to raise there post count so i dont see them stopping just because there is no post count. plus removing the post count is just going to make the section just another spam section which will just increase the stupid posts. good luck getting a decent response then.

increasing the moderation isn't going to much either, back when we had good moderators in the section who actually played the game and know what posts was on-topic and off topic we would still have stupid posts and threads, i doubt that we ever change despite cranking up on moderation and rules.

banning people doesnt do much either, they get banned and then they return on another account being even more stupid. doesnt improve the situation much does it?
ive knew conor since 05, not once has he changed, he has always been like this and he has been banned more times than i can count but yet he is still around on different accounts.

the runescape section has always been a joke section, you just have to learn to deal with it. its been like that since back when i can remember and hasn't changed and i doubt its going to change anytime soon just because your unhappy about it.

i think you should listen to what has been said in this thread about your attitude and you trying to be clever with your replies that just cause all the arguments in the first place, not that many people use the rs section and those that do near enough everyone so it is a tight community and if someone comes in thinking there smart and witty and just starting arguments then everyone is going to turn on you.

No need removing it because it still is used. It used to be one of the (if not the) most popular section. It may not be anymore but it is still fairly active. You're just bitter now.
That post was so hypocritical, you spam so much and you comment on conor getting 100 posts. Check your post count and join date and read all your posts and ask yourself if they're 100% spam free?

Unfortunately the Runescape has been in a bitter state over the last 2 or so years. However I do agree that some of the posts are uneccesary, and some posts are repeated after another person's post, just rephrased. Most of the people (definitely the ones who have been on the Runescape forum for several years now) don't care about the post count so therefore it's nothing to them. Also I agree with JackBuddy that your post was hyprocritical, how about critcising yourself about all the things you've done, such as pointless posting, before criticising others? You won't become liked if you do that.

Why have you suddenly started playing the "But I'm within the rules" card, I thought we were meant to be talking about the Runescape section not yourself? That's what you said a few pages back but you continue to contradict yourself anyway.

The reason you made a thread is because you thought the section was a mess and the reasons for this were probably the lack of the moderator's or the lack of rules to accommodate this trouble making. You now claim you would be 'infracted' or 'warned' if you were pointless posting, not only is that an incredibly weak and petty argument, it's contradicting yourself once again. If there isn't any active Runescape moderators how the hell are you going to get infracted?

You've also pointed others out for pointless posting a few pages back, but surely they're within the rules as they haven't been infracted according to your logic.
