View Full Version : What program do you use to download and play your music?

Well I was watching the Gadget show this morning and originally used Limewire to download songs; which I am still proceeding to do to download songs, but they mentioned a program called Spotify.

I downloaded it and I think it is excellent. I'm only new to this program but at the moment I think they provide the songs but you can not download them which is fine for me just to listen to music on my laptop.

I was just wondering what program everyone uses to download and play their music:

I have always used Limewire to download my music but I was wondering if there are any safer, free programs out there that anyone else uses?

To play my music I use Windows Media Player which I find is quick and easy but now I've downloaded Spotify I think I'll be using this from now on.

I use the youtube downloader to download and realplayer to play.

I use that to download my music but I always get really bad quality. I never listen to music on my laptop, or if I do, I use youtube. I usually listen to the radio.

I use iTunes to play them.
To download I use a combo of Limewire, iTunes (get £10 on it a month) & www.zamzar.com (http://www.zamzar.com) (songs that I can't find on Limewire).

To listen to music, I use Spotify (really amazing application) and iTunes, as well as my iPod.

To download music, I used to use Limewire PRO, but eventually decided against it.. and downloaded a free alternative to Limewire PRO called Frostwire, which is an open source version.

Almost the exact same thing, except it's free.. same speed, everything.

Spotify is a great application for when you're just at home listening to music. I've been obsessed with it for a several months now lol. It's free (if you can cope with occasional adverts) AND it's legal.

I think they have plans to expand on the idea of downloads soon to replace the current feature that links you to the 7Digital website.

Limewire isn't illegal, most of the content on there is.

I use iTunes to listen and Warez to download

I'll buy the songs online/instore if I really like the band, for example I downloaded the A Day To Remember Discography from Mininova.org but then I bought it online so I could support the band, same with Billy Talent.
I use iTunes to play songs.

I'm surprised so many people use Limewire, so in-secure, easy to get viruses and normally the quality of the songs are really bad. I use torrents, but I have access to What.CD and Waffles.FM which is just win. :D

I still use file2HD, heh. Individual songs off myspace, albums with uTorrent. Sync with iTunes. Those are all for downloading though, for just listening to music I use Spotify too. :)
