Guys, please be patient with me, and read all of this.

Computers are addictive enough, but Habbo is ultra addictive, you can make friends, and instantly get hooked into a world much like the real world. Just stop to think. How long do you spend infront of that screen a week? A day? Some of you probably spend a couple of.... i.e. 3/4 hours a day, just on Habbo.

Let me do a few Pros and Cons of Habbo. If you dont know what pros and cons are, it is like a comparison of the good points and bad points of things.

Pros (good things)
----------------------------------------------

You can make friends with people all around the world
A time waster, good for the odd few minutes when you have nothing to do.
Safe (?)
Dont HAVE to spend money on it.

Cons (erm... have a guess.)
----------------------------------------------

Having friends on habbo is not NEARLY as interactive and fun/special as spending time with real life friends.
Addictive, people can spend too much time on it.
Although Habbo try to ensure safety, people (strangers) are still able to meet up offline.
Safety filters can be avoided.
People can treat habbo as REAL LIFE... BIG MISTAKE.
Money is easily drawn out of people. General idea = credits = acceptance.

There are more pros and cons, I'm absolutely sure, but the biggest con of all is:

Habbo wastes valueble living time.

Now, guys... here's a kind of IDONTKNOWWHATTOCALLTHIS type of thing...

People on average live for... I dont know, 70 - 80 years. And you cant go back in time. When you are old, or getting older, you may look back at all the time you wasted infront of that conputer screen. 70 years isnt long AT ALL.
I don't think it is acceptable to waste so much time on a website/game, please realise that there is more to life.

Please share with me your thoughts, I'd love to know your views.

I agree It is addictive but as long as you treat habbo as a game I don't see a problem with it.

Y!

Habbo is an addiction for some people however for most it is an escape from the real world. On habbo you can lie and pretend to be someone your not you can make people perceive you in different ways than they would in 'the real world.' If your a fat 8 year old that gets bullied at school you can pretend to be a fit healthy good looking 16 year old. In my opinion this is what draws people to habbo and all online activities. It may not be as drastic and obvious as the example i have given. People possess lots of different insecurities you may be popular, good looking etc however there are always aspects within yourself that you may not be 100% satisfied with, online these can be erased from a persons perception of you.

EDIT: Yes in ways you can waste your life online however some people are happy online, yes this may be the more 'extreme' cases of insecurity I know i myself are not as happy online as when I am out with mates but some prefure the distance and control of an online chat.

I agree, addictive. I talk to my friends online a lot, and I dont even go on habbo at all, really. I do know people are absolutly obbsessed, and cant get away from habbo. It doesnt really cut into my social life really, I just do this while Im talking to people online, or just when I have nothing else to do.

I am quitting my habbox jobs at the end of august, because I just want to be able to concentrate on homework more, but Im staying on habbox.

I know there are people that are glued to the screen for 15 hours everyday, but i'm so happy that isnt me. I'm not constantly on, maybe 1-4 hours a day, so as long as you take this as a game in moderation with safety in mind, its perfectly fine :)

if people enjoy it I dont see the big problem. not everyone will regret it in 70 years time most people will be like I had fun and met some great people.

That is a very good point.. but if you think this why do you still come on ?? :p i come on because i enjoy it, it only 1 hour a day.. when nothing too do if i ask to go out or am going somewhere i dont even think about nipping on the Pc, i used to be s addicted but i have pulled myself out the routine and started going out more with my mates :) so this post doesnt apply to me *Alot* but it is a good thing to think about when we could be doing something that when were older can not do!
Well done for the post ! :eusa_clap :eusa_clap :D

I agree. Computer's are VERY addictive, and I spend probably over 100 hours on it a week.

I have thought about reducing the time I spend on it, but I just can't do it. I try going on my playstation, for like, an hour, then, after that I have the urge to get back onto the PC! :s

I'm gonna reduce the time on it.
* It's not healthy just sitting on a pc seat, doing nothing
* It's wasting life time, like you said
* And also, it's rather boring.
