For Busy People, Main Points Are In Red!

Hey guys, im in a dilema.. Basicly im a guy, And want to start growing my hair so its long and flicks out at the bottom, but my hair grows OUT like an afro rather than down?
Im wondering how to make it go down. Does thinning your hair with thinning scissors help it grown downwards? Thanks!
+rep for any answers!

Thinning your hair will not make it grow downwards, you need to 'tame' your hair by using loads of gel or another styling product. Keep applying gel to straighten your hair down everyday and eventually your hair will naturally grow down.

I have a similar problem- my fringe defies gravity.
Go to a hairdresser, tell them about your problem and they will cut your hair to try and hide the problem. You can try using gel or straightening it, but you'd have to do it everyday and it might not work.
P.s don't use thinning scissors, hair thickness is not the problem =)

ere mate i know how you feel, you just have thick hair. my hair is incredibly thick (plus i have 2 calf flicks at the front :l). you could either keep it really short all the time (even though it grows quick) or let it grow and hope the weight will flatten it a bit. also as others have said use styling products like gel/wax/moose.

the only real benefit of having thick hair is you wont go bald quickly.

OMG I have the SAME problem apart from its worse! It just sticks right out and its so hard, it wont spike or go down with gel either. I tried everything, I just think you should go to a hairdresser and he/she can advise you. I cba to go so yh =]

How long is your hair?

Mine is about... down to my ass now... and it's still kinda kinked/wavey...

When it was like 6inches long it grew outwards aswell... I found the best way for me is lots of conditioner and then to straighten my hair once ever 2days before washing it again...

After about a year of doing the above it became pretty straight... now if I want it straight it takes me about 1hour to straighten as aposed to the 3-4hours it use to take...

Erm... my hair is REALLY thick and REALLY rebellious though you probably wont have quite the same issues...

But yeah, buy yourself some straighteners and some really nice conditioners and watch as people gorpe and your luscious locks!

Mine used to be like that, I used conditioners that dealt with frizz and leave-in moisturising/detangle conditions aswell, I also combed my hair down while it was wet and either let if drip dry or blow-dried it. I moved on to straightners when my mam straightened it once to show me what it was like and it worked :P.
