Legs - Drumroll for jokes -
Just run regular scans and delete unwanted files and applications. And try not to do to many things at once

Get CCleaner, it's easy to use and can clear all your temp files.
Check what is running at startup by it and see if anything is not needed (e.g some programs run without you knowing even if you never use them).

Easiest way is to re-install your OS.

Disk cleanup, Disk fragment, or reformatt is the best way

Run registry scan and delete some start-up programs that aren't needed you can also run the cleaner but make sure you un-tick your internet browser as you may delete passwords that are saved, etc. PM me if you need further help whilst using CCleaner (CrapCleaner), i'd be glad to help.

Yeah and doing simple stuff like clearing your browsing history every time you close the browser will help!

That would only speed up your browser you ****, and also it gets annoying having to empty the folder every time you exit your browser, don't you think?
Auslogics boostspeed.
http://download.cnet.com/1770-20_4-0.html?query=boostspeed&tag=srch&searchtype=downloads&filterName=platform%3DWindows&filter=platform%3DWindows
Excellent registry/defrag options.
Also useful tweaking options to make your web browser faster etc.
30 day free trial, but if you were feeling naughty you could go on YOUTUBE and search 'auslogics boost speed serial'...
TBH, you can just do a registry/disk defragment and run some other bits then uninstall if you want.
Also, ccleaner (as suggested above) is pretty handy and totally free. Useful for deleting windows error log files, things that are a pain to rid yourself of otherwise.
Additionally, consider getting some lower-impact antivirus/firewall software.

Yes but....
Every time you open a browser to view a web page, order something online, or read your email in a web based viewer that information is stored on your computer for later use.
Windows operating systems store all this material in what are called Temporary Internet Files or cache. Web pages may store bits of information about who you are when you visit web sites in files called cookies on your computer. Your web browser will store a list of web sites you've visited and places you've gone in a history file in your computer. Even if you are not online,
So next time when you open up that big gob of yours and call me a ****, think before you speak.
