Hello,

eVaske would like to offer the design of business cards. As this is a new idea we are trying out, we are offering the first five designs absolutely free! I have a website where you can get 100 business cards printed for free and it will only cost you delivery (£5.00).

The business cards can either be single or double sided. For a preview of eVaske's own bussiness card, visit here:

Yours Sincerely,

Kieran Eves

eVaske will design custom business cards....

Oh! My bad, I was misreading :).

So, how will this work? Customer pays you for design, which they'd then use on the site to buy their cards? Or do you order the cards for them etc?

The customer will pay us to design them for them. It is then a simple case of them uploading the front and back image and clicking purchase :) The first 100 cards are free and just £5 delivery is needed.

However, the first five designs are free so we can add them to our portfolio :)

Or they could just go to
http://www.vistaprint.co.uk/vp/ns/studio3.aspx?pf_id=064&combo_id=4298&gallery_id=64&category_id=11&referer=http%3a%2f%2fwww.vistaprint.co.uk%2ffree.a spx%3fGP%3d4%252f15%252f2009%2b2%253a20%253a33%2bP M&rd=2

And get 250 free buisness cards & a card holder. Including cheaper delivery...

@ ^^ post: No.. Hes just going to design them for you Free of charge, then will give you a website where you can use that design he gives you to order 100 buisness cards free..

Kieran

But those 250 can't be custom designed so that defeats the object :)

But what after the first five designs? they can get them free there. And when i ordered some stuff which was free i didnt even need to pay postage xP

Kieran

That still doesn't defeat the object that those designs are boring and aren't designed specifically for a company which is the reason why I am designing them for people.... Stop trying to ruin my thread just because I didnt code something for you!

Wouter

He's not ruining the thread, he's asking what makes you better than the other card prints etc and asking about your service.

Your a relativly poor coder anyway. Reference the business cards, I personally would prefer to go a known printer and get some high quality matte cards thats can have cutouts - but maybe thats because I'm a designer? With free cards, there is no way to guage their quality.

Hes selling the service of making cards, NOT printing them. The printing is completely irrelevant. All hes saying is he can design you one free and then get them printed free through another company if you want.

I was saying that if you happen to get them printed, try a higher quality printer, as you cannot guage the quality of the one he is recommending. My post didn't really read correctly ^_^ sorry.

Also, idealy you would want your designs to come with bleed margins and at least 320 dpi (incase someone goes to a printer that requires them).

What stock are you using?
Who are you sourcing your printing from? Free printing is likely to be a terrible provider.
Do you designs include cut and bleed?
CMYK?
DPi?
Litho or Digital?
Are they going print ready PDF or another format?

(I run a Design for Print Studio, so I have alot of experience in this field)

I could add more to Thai's list such as are all blacks under 140% coverage, otherwise sometimes you have sticky blacks. Its the same with color, no more than 275% coverage.

Can't remember the exacts, but when I did some print design for client work there were alot of points I had to keep inline with.

I have an extensive list that our printers require us to abide by. I can send eVaske a copy if you would like?

Hes not printing them himself, Im sorry if it seemed like a hijack, just a suggestion for people if they wanted to get them printed elsewhere. Im sure any requirments will be happily taken into consideration

All my designs are done to the printers quality guidelines:

CKMY
320 DPI
My designs include the cut and bleed

Sweet,

You ship to Canada?

Kieran

If you can find a company that ships custom business card designs to Canada then I will happily design cards to suit that companies guildlines :)

Get the designs printed by http://uk.moo.com/en/;
It's just that little bit nicer from there.

Alternatively, go to http://vistaprint.com; Pay around £2 for custom upload, have 250 printed for free, and voila..

(However, VistaPrint will spam you like crazy, make sure to unsubscribe afterwards.)

Do not under any circumstances go with V*stapr*nt.
Their premium stock is only 215gsm, which is about the same thickness as thin card. As a bare standard, we print 350gsm stock with 400gsm preferred.

Thanks for the PM Tenatious - i'll do that for you ASAP

The generic size for a UK business card is 85mmx55mm

gsm stands for Grams per Square Metre.

So a nice business card would 85mm long, 55mm stall and would weigh 400 grams per square meter
