View Full Version : Newsletter?
This has probably been suggested before, but I figured I may aswell try.
I think habbox should make a monthly/weekly newsletter. Sort of like our own version of the pixel press... except better. Like, anyone can submit their own articles, videos, url's etc and then put a web page together/use flash or make it just out of images.
I know that doing this would be hard, as seeing as habbox is huge there will probably be HEAPS of submissions, but you could probably get a newsletter team and they could do all that.
Anyway, just an idea ^^

I would actually like to see it. It could have a lot of user input. Things such as "best quote of the week" which could be found from the forum "best video of the week" which again could be a video that was posted on the forum. There could be random interviews with members of management or someone who has just had a promotion or something along those lines. It's quite community based and I reckon a lot of people would be interested in reading it.

Yeah I think it's a big enough group of websites to do a newsletter. I reckon weekly could be done but if not monthly.
Could do a round-up of weekly Habbo news, Forum Announcements, Forthcoming Events, Rare Values Department Summary, Competitions and some Articles.
I'd prefer it to be done by email as well btw rather than something on Habbox.com

Jordy has a funny quote in his signature.. xD
Sadly its by me.. :P
Anyway would be great - I think a small department would be good to do this - just a group of people that sort out all the stuff like interviews - a if management did it, you couldn'y really interview yourself.. xD
Nice idea

If you do it by email then there may be a couple of problems. One, is that seeing as habboxforum is huge there will probably be way to much articles to put into an email withought making it look cluttered. And it might be hard to navigate, whilst a webpage would be really easy to navigate (With page anchors or something). Another thing is, people may have lost access to their email adress or simply don't read their emails.

It use to work really well, it stopped when Kroziun didn't have the time. A good articles writer could easily take it on board. Kroziun use to ask each department manager to write a small article to contribute to the Newsletter.

That makes no difference. Kroziun was Competitions staff, but was a very gifted writer too :P

This is a great idea, it could be done on a webpage and Habboxforum members could help add content such as alts, videos, jokes and worldwide news.

I remember habboxlive did a news letter last year but i'm not sure of what happened to it. I think a habbox news letter would be a good idea if enough people were interested.

I would love to see a Habboxwide Newsletter :8 It would be very fun to compile each month if there were a small team of people to gather it all. A lot of user input like Immenseman said could make it very interactive in both the making of it, and the finished product. I like!

I'd love to see something like this but it depends on how many others would. And then there's the issue of actually getting it put together. It's do-able I reckon though.

I'm glad you all like the idea ^^ Hopefully it can actually happen.

Yes, but it sometime it can be hard finding some really good stuff. And a newsletter might make more people submit more stuff.

We discussed this in the staff forum sometime last year and decided against it because it was too hard to organise and the novelty would wear off which means no-one would read it. It'd be of little substance anyway since all the content could be posted on the site or, if we used your ideas of taking alts and stuff, they'd be on the forum.
Imo its an idea that sounds good on paper but getting a group of people together to organise it every week/month and make it interesting is night on impossible. Good luck to habbox if you go for it though.

I remember when 8freak8 did one. That was every season though. He'd write one in Winter, Spring, Summer and Autumn. Although saying that I can only remember the Summer and Autumn one before he stopped, lol. Enjoyed reading them both well I must have seeing as I can still remember them.

Like Jake said it would be good to have one every quarter or something when there are normally new targets set for each department. The newsletter can have the goings on of each department, what they have changed, added etc and any major changes in the department. I know when I was HxHD Manager I enjoyed reading the report of each department which I think Jake wrote. There could be a competitions page to win big, random fun stuff for people to do and enter.

I'm hesitant to try it because it has been tried several times before, runs well for a while then loses steam. I'm not sure if its worth trying again because I honestly can't fault anything except not having the staff to continue once one staffer left off with it. Since there's really nothing I can say was wrong with each attempt, I have little basis to say that it won't fail this time.
Which doesn't mean we can't try it, but it makes me a little less sure if its worth it.

Maybe if the members of the forum were more involved with the newsletter? Surely that would keep some interest and build anticipation for each newsletter if it is kept bi-monthly or quarterly.

I would LOVE to see this happen weekly, monthly maybe.
I would also love to have a small section in it if that would be possible... :eusa_whis
:8
(Oh, but it would have to be FORUM-based, instead of site-based, because if it is on the site, i'm really not bothered if we have it or not...)
