Hey, i am posting about a new project i am starting on, it will be a video site that plays just music videos,I will be hoping to get a deal with either MTV, 4MUSIC, or TMF And dont say oh well you never will because i have already contacted them and onehas replied with mabey,For this in return from them i would HAVE to have a great team of people, and i would have to have an ad on site for them atleast, but onto the point, i will be hoping to get a back-end system that connects to either TMF, 4MUSIC ect music video database and then update the homepage were the video will be located. i just thought i would explain this to you, Also on the lisence side of things, i WILL be getting a lisence if a get a deal with 4music ect.
I will not be able to do this alone and i need coders, a website layout and people to run the back-end, What am i offering for this, no money (at the moment - my pal-pal is empty) but i will be paying, and a job helping at Veejay, we will also eventually go onto paying jobs, from the money we recive back from the Ads on site and on the forum.
If you are intrested ion helping me, please contact me at jack_a!s!s_jack[at]hotmail.co.uk - no ! in the email adress
Thanks

So, erm, forgive my asking - but what exactly would you be doing? All I can see is you would be giving money to keep the website online but no money to those actually creating the site?
There are a few flaws with this like for example, whats in it for them (MTV, 4Music)? Why should they go with someone like you instead of a well founded website like YouTube?
Sorry, I don't see this going anywhere and I am sure that I won't be the only one. Its a half formed project and you can't jump in head first without knowing if you have the resources to do this kind of thing.
P.S - TMF is a division of MTV so if you get a no from MTV, I would expect the same from TMF.

I understand your points Johno. But everyone starts small. The name is rather eurgh. As long as it's all planned out. I'm happy to help.
You might also want to contact Universal & Warner for Music Rights. As a lot of big artists are there.

I totally agree that everyone starts small but there would have to be reasons behind why someone should go with a small startup rather than going with a large business who have a lot of capital behind them.
I am simply interested in why he thinks that people would use his service rather than another.
However, I wish you the best of luck :)

I don't see why any big company would be going along with someone who says "mabey".
I mean seriously? They know they are dealing with a 12 year old.. of course they are going to say maybe, they are ******* with you.
What exactly are you going to do? You need coders, designers, a team to run it, where do you stand in this?
Are you going to stand on the corner with a big cardboard sign saying VeeJAY!
They are going to think you're stupid, VeeJAY sounds like a porn site.. (VeeJayJay? Vajayjay? Vagina?) Maybe that's just a USA term.
Anyways, I think it's stupid, I think it's not going to work, good luck.
Just because you have a partnership with "MTV" doesn't mean you have the rights to play music.
You'd be out the ass in licensing and royalties.

1) Johno, I would be paying from the money we got back from the ads on site, sorry if that was not clear, and if you watch say 4music, you will see in the gaps of music they have like the best music, 4music freeview 18 ect, i would put them in the gaps of the music like they do. And with the MTV/TMF i agree but TMF is owned by MTV But ran by diffrent people.
2)Wouter. I only have it planned upto a certain stage at the moment because i need a ye or no form the people i have contacted, and if you would like to help that would be great, contact me on msn
3)Protege. Does it? I never head of ejay
4)Johno, I have searched the internet and there is nothing else like this on the net, Becuase this isnt just a place to upload videos, it is a place to listen to music, that comes from a music channel/site database, and people can send in requests like a radio, but get to hear the song a see the video
5)Dentafrice, Im not 12 Ok And with the name VeeJAY, think about it DJ VJ? i was thinking something to do with videos and music. And i was going to advertise on here, because alot of respected people and coders are on here and other coding sites, and with the name again, i think thats just USA. Adn with the lisence, i am going to be getting that so dont worry, becuse if we go with say TMF we would become a part of TMF so we could either a) share there licence or b) get an extension of theres, (alot cheaper) or get a new on compleatly
Thanks, Jack
