[WIP] First Layout in... 2 years? ;o - GamingSite1

This piece is going to be a part of a portfolio of work i am building for a mini-project. I haven't designed any layouts in around 2 years so sorry if i'm a little rusty xD

Please comment, and suggest any improvements. Remember this is a WIP not the finished result, the box underneath the userbox is probably going to be a Newsbox, but im not sure what font to use in it to suit the rest of the layout. Been using Verdana throughout.

This layout will probably be offered out free once its finished if i get around to coding it. Unless anyone offers to? ;D I haven't bothered putting any copyright on it, if anyone wants to steal it go ahead, it's crap lmao. Its going to be offered out free anyway.

PS - Yes the idea for the nav was stolen from a tutorial on Pixel2life ;P Everyone gets their ideas from somewhere.

Also i know about the small amount of space at the bottom for the content, but on this is only the main index. Every other page will not have that on there, thus more room for content.

Any suggestions on what to add would be greatly appreciated.

Lol i can't remember, i started this at like 6 am and i don't have the page anymore. I'll take a look later. I'm not sure if i should do some more boxes underneath the Featured Article which would contain like.. the latest Review and stuff.

Also i need a place to put a search box but i haven't decided where ;P

Maybe have like little boxes at the bottom saying 'Latest Releases' or something?? For the 3 top selling consoles, I dunno, But good luck on the improvements!

Well i made some more changes and it's kinda almost finished.

Some Notes:


The 'Featured Article' box will have different content on it depending on what page you are on. For example, if you are on the Index it'll have the featured article. Then on Reviews it'll have the latest review. Videos, latest video and some info etc etc
Need some ideas for what to add to the right of the banner. Looks kind of bland?
The footer is supposed to be like that at the bottom. Though if it looks *****, say ;D
I've also just noticed the Reviews tab is the one highlighted blue at the top. That's just a demonstration of the different colour the current page would be. Though this is the main page

I don't like it. It doesn't look like a gaming site.
Gaming sites are usually dark, but some are light.

However if you edit it a bit, it could look better :)

I think it looks good personally, wouldn't change anything.

Very Nice, Tbh I love that I bet alot of people will use when you code and give away free. The Content boxes are nice and i like the light colours used.
