Yo,

I'm going to buy a new racing game for 360 tomorrow and I was wondering if people could give me some recs. It has to have customizable cars (user created) and has to have free roam (similar to how NFS: Most Wanted was). I'm not really an expert when it comes to these games so I have no idea whats good and what has what I want.

Thanks!!

Rightio,

There's a problem with racing games that have free roam on them nowadays as most of them are old like Need for Speed: Carbon or most of them are terrible like Need for Speed: Undercover. If you want a real racing simulation game I suggest Forza Motorsport 2. You can pick it up for around £5 nowadays and it's the closest thing to real life racing on the 360. The only problem is that it is not free roaming. PGR4 is another game that's not free roaming but is an excellent racing game and more arcade than simulation as opposed to Forza. PGR4 does not, however, have any customization.

In conclusion - Forza is a fantastic racing simulator with no free roam and NFS Carbon is a good game, with customization with free roaming.

Forza is good but isn't free roam, I'd reccommend midnight club :)

Customizable cars, free roam, loads to do, nice and fun, quite cheap now :)

forza 2 is probably the best racing sim out at the moment, if your looking for fun then midnight club, if your a nfs fan go for undercover (i personally thought it was pretty enjoyable)

NFS Undercover is the perfect mix of relaxed free roam and a good driving sim. I prefered it to GRiD and Forza.

Tossing up between NFS: Undercover and Midnight Club (Not really into the whole actual racing thing, just like being a street rebel :p). Rep to all. I've got no idea which to pick haha.

Both of those are good racing games that allows customization but only get MC if youre good at racing games as its an extremely hard game which does get frustrating after a while

Burnout paradise is the best in my opinion, it has all that new content, its free roaming, and overall its really fun and great to have a laugh on

Not a realistic racing simulator like PGR4, Grid and Forza but a great fun driving game never the less.

GTA IV also has some reasonable racing modes in the single player and multiplayer, a lot of the time it is full of n00bs and traffic though so it's often ruined but very good if it gets going.

I decided to get NFS: Underground. I'm pretty impressed with it however it kept freezing every 2 minutes until I installed it to the hard-drive, now it's fine. Graphics are a bit glossy but it's a lot of fun. Love the cars!
