12 starts and 1 goal for a season's work... thoroughly deserved.

So you're justifying this decision?

Young has had a terrible season too, we where discussing this in 6th form today. Almost everyone said ireland deserved to win it.

well... terrible second half.

But yeah, Ireland has probably been the most consistent out of the lot.

lmao

just because you think of all the over-rated players to win these things, doesn't mean it's going to happen.

Leave the sports section now, if you had ANY interest in football you would know that it's taken place.

No point in you and your limited knowledge being here collecting post counts.

Seven-time champion Stephen Hendry hits a maximum 147 break in his quarter-final clash with Shaun Murphy at the Crucible.
Brilliant isn't it?!

Even more reason for him NOT to get the award.

Giggs has been in consistent form as a sub for us this season and has helped so much in midfield, but he doesn't deserve PFA player of the year. I think its between Torres of Ireland as some have pointed out.

Jack.Lfc

Torres has missed half of the season. Personally i thought vidic should havbe won.

Torres has missed half of the season. Personally i thought vidic should havbe won.But his goals and work rate have helped Liverpool massively. You're right about Vidic, he's been in sensational form this season AND last season. Ferdinand struggles to defend well without him.

I think he won it because of the fact that he has been a commited player for many years and hasn't won it yet.

I actually think it's the other way around.

I think he won it because of the fact that he has been a commited player for many years and hasn't won it yet.But that is like pitying him in a way. Of course he is a fantastic player, a legend infact and in my opinion.. one of the finest players to grace the Premierleague.

ireland was nominated for YPFA...My bad :)

I actually think it's the other way around. You could argue this about both players due to them being a secure unit when they play together but Ferdinand just doesn't have the edge when Vidic isn't there.

I don't mind, I'm £20 up for this :D

I think it's fair to say he's got this for his illustrious career, not this season.
I'm liking how calls for his knighthood have just arised though :S Jump on the bandwagon when he completes the rout hey.

Skajo

Then he deserves as PFA Lifetime achievement, not a PFA player of THIS YEAR, not 17 years previous.

As good a player Vidic is, I find him quite sly and dirty, also fairly error prone sometimes.

Gerrard shoulda won hands down.
