View Full Version : iTunes recent pricing change
Anyone find it stupid? 99p for the same song I could have bought prior for 79p, I don't really want a forced 20p extra for iTunes Plus as I only buy it on songs I'l play through something that will accept .ACC and nothing else.
I wanted to buy some songs a day or two ago and they were 79p from various 'Now' albums but 99p off the artist's album, its stupid.

I thought they were forced to legally because the music industry was not getting enough or something.
They threatened to close iTunes... obviously they caved.
Can anyone find anything on what I'm on about?
99p? They can **** off. I'm going back to other means of getting my songs!!!!

99p is a hell of alot for one song... Play.com, Amazon.co.uk and TescoDigital do them for about 79p :S Not alot of that is actually going to the artists either... Infact, on Amazon you can get the top songs for something like 29p (Poker Face - Lady GaGa and other popular songs at the moment). Play.com appear to have 65p on most songs and TescoDigital are around the 57p-79p price margins, though they are offering free MP3s to people who bought the WMA equivilent.
Considering iTunes use the AAC format, that alone is usually a reason to put people off buying the songs. Though I am not sure if they still do that, so can't really argue.

Most songs on the NZ iTunes store are $1.79 which according to google is 0.683648973 British pounds. However there are certain songs for $2.39 which is 0.912805054 British pounds.

Im look for songs at the moment and it's 79p still the extra 20 is if you want to "upgrade" your songs you already own to DRM free. Otherwise it's all 79p (new drm-free songs)

My understanding is that all songs are DRM-Free, and most are around 79p
Theres only about 5% or something that are 99p,
and an even smaller amount that are 59p (unfortunately)

I thought all songs were DRM free now?
Which could explain the 20p increase in all songs
