Hey,

Well couple days ago I was told Virgin Media would be around to install my 50MB's today and WOO they just left about 30mins ago and I must say it's even more amazing than their 20MB package which was also amazing.

Just done a speedtest as well and as usual getting the full speed:

http://www.speedtest.net/result/462591965.png

Lol they also had 2 vans for my house:

http://img165.imageshack.us/img165/5199/29042009559.jpg

The little modem is amazingly sexy and the Wireless-N router is amazing as well. We also got their TV intalled Movies on demand is immense it all is! :D

Anyone else have their 50MB package if so you like it and had any problems?

Thread close by Flisker (Forum Moderator) due to bumb.

Wow I wish New Zealand had that sort of internet, brilliant. And I couldn't stop laughing at the van parked on the wrong side of the street.

Thanks! Yeah I remember when I saw the advertisement on TV I checked as well to see if it was available in my area than like 2-4 weeks later I got the beloved e-mail saying '50MB's In Available In Your Area' and was like "Mum..." I think you know the rest :P

Are you with them now? If so which package?

Nice, lucky nout

Nice one, even if cable did come into my area I doubt I'd end up switching to it. Especially something as extravagant and costly as a 50mb package, although it'd be nice to have a half decent upload speed. Currently on BT's so called 8mb package, which is untrue and overpriced, so we'll soon be moving to Sky when the contract ends at some point this year. This might sound like the fools question, but how can you justify a 50mb package for regular internet usage?

Kevin

You're internet speed is exactly 16.6 times faster than mine, and I'm on the fastest package for my area (3MB)

Oh, I will be getting 50MB by the end of July. It's like waiting for big present!

With Sky get 2mb but I'm quite far from the exchange so I'd say it's ok due to distance. :P

Yeah I mean their TV is ok and their films on demand and iPlayer on their is ok but I think sky is better of sky have loads of HD channels as well.

Aww! I remember the annoying wait waiting for it to come to my area as well. You with them at the moment on another package?

Wow. I would of though London being so "upper class" and so on most areas of it would have 50MB's.

Nah not at all I'd say 2mb would suffice for someone who used normal internet like browsing and stuff but I do alot of gaming so I like a rather good ping and I do an awful lot of downloading which is why I moved to it because I like speed and also wanted to download my films and so on at a nice speed and because their is no useage or capping limits.

Please don't say Belkin.

Just done another speedtest to see now they've gone and i've been throttling and downloading as much as I can to see if I get capped and have iPlayer streaming and random things like steam and xfire open.

Watch it go down over the next few weeks LOL.

I prefer Cisco personally.

Netgear along with Linksys make to best home consumer networking products. Cisco is a business brand, way too OTT for home use. Linksys, as you probably know, are a dumbed down version of Cisco anyway.

Netgear wireless routers have a brilliant range.

Nothing wrong with Netgear considering my Linksys did die on me, it was my only choice and I must say it was the best choice I made in a long time. Nothing wrong with their products. That modem is rather sexy, I have the black V+ Box. :P.

-------------------------

To the person who had to threaten to get someone out, wow, really? We had a problem with our telephone. They came out within the next day or 2 to find the problem. The guy was nice enough so we didn't have to pay and blame it on the company :P.

Nothing wrong with netgear, ive had a router for 2 years and it hasn't failed me yet.

Nice internets, only 7 months before our contract with AOL expired and we can move to something nicer, I think mum was talking about sky cos its cheaper. We'll have the phone service and we already have the TV so yknow.

Mines only 2MB which Virgin have now forced me to upgrade as they're discontinuing, but they just offered us the VIP package at a discount (We've been with them for like 10 years (Telewest) ) so I think I'm getting 10MB.

If it does end up coming while your still in that area and you want faster speeds I'd defently say go for it their cable services are amazing hope their phone line server is just as good for you with your new broadband.

IPTorrents could probably get you 30Mbps on some of the better seeded torrents. BitSoup I find really variable. Demonoid sucks for speed.
