Ok, I followed DJ Richie's steps and as my laptop is in spanish, I don't know what they'd refer a Sound Card to. Don't tell me to translate it, it's not as simple as that, too I speak and read spanish but anyway.

Does anyone know any steps (in english) to find out whether my laptop has a sound card and if its good enough. What icons should I be looking for e.t.c. I have Vista Windows Home Edition.

Thankyou

As you've got a laptop, your soundcard is probably on board witch mean's it's built into the motherboard. Most computer's you buy now-a-days have them built onto the motherbaord as it saves space. Just like how your laptop most probably has an intregated graphics card.

Got to device manager > look for sound and expand that one > right click > properties

it'll have a device status
