View Full Version : What Vista is better?
I was wondering what Vista is better because I have a choice between
Windows Vista Business
Windows Vista HomeBasic
Windows Vista HomePremium
Windows Vista Ultimate
Windows Vista HomeBasic N
Windows Vista Business N
Windows Vista Starter
I want the fastest really, my friend has Business and its super fast but would you agree Business is the best?
Also could someone tell me the difference to the one with the 'N' on the end?
It REALY depends on your specs.
Although, the most popular, seems to be
Vista Home Premium
And i'll admit, it does work flawlessly
Hmm, I currently am on a 160gb, 2gbram, intel(r) pentium(r) dual T3200 2.00GHz, 32bit op system.
I don't want anything fancy, just capable to run games and do work.

It's stupid but....
Windows Vista Home Basic N includes the same functionality as Windows Vista Home Basic, except that it does not include Windows Media Player.
Windows Business is without doubt the best in terms of performance but there's no point of getting it if most of the things that come with WB is not going to be used.
EDIT: You may already know what's included in each package but here it is if you don't.

Like I said, i don't want anything fancy. I don't need the other crap. I just want it to be able to run games and let me to do work on microsoft office 2007 without no problems and obviously to browse the internet.
Well which sounds like it's the best? Ultimate?
Ultimate has all of the features of the others in one.

Well I really don't want games, DVD makes, extras, extra media and crap.

The only thing good with business is that you have:
Better protect your data
against loss with Windows BitLocker Drive Encryption (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/windowsvista/features/details/bitlocker.mspx)
You can easily download a decent free BitLocker drive Encryption software off the internet. (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/windowsvista/features/details/bitlocker.mspx)
Microsoft are very clever on how they sell the packages.

it isnt
Do you have Ultimate?

I'm going to guess your in the Vista installer, in which if you get that list then you haven't put a serial key in and it will expire after 30 days.
Anyway, Home Premium, has everything apart from the crap you'll never use.

Home Premium is a happy medium to choose (rhymie :D). It does all you need but it has the extras there if you require them.

I use Vista Business edition, and I have used the others before and Business & Ultimate seem pretty much the same to be honest. :P
