OK so I upgraded to VM 10mb package and I only recieved 2mb - 3MAX.
So I rang up Virgin media and I told the asian guy on the phone the problem and he did some tests with my modem which apparantly wasnt working. He said he would fix the problem within 72 hours.

Which he by the looks of its has.

My speeds varie from high to abit lower but havnt gone under 7mb yet.
Some times download speeds are @ 15mb though im on a 10mb pack :S

Anyway now that my downloading speed is great when I browse websites any websites whether its bbc, facebook or habboxforum. It takes around 7-8 seconds to load whereas before it would load under 2-3 seconds.

Anyone know whats happened?

Whilst you're browsing the websites, are you also downloading? Because if you're downloading (and using up most of your connection) the sites will load slowly.

If you're not downloading/uploading and it's slow when browsing, then I'm not totally sure because it should be fine...

I'm glad it's faster than before. As for the speeds... seems like the guy on the phone did something to your connection... which is good. :D

With Virgin when I was upgraded once they put me on 20mb instead of the one I asked for and then said I asked for it and started charging for it and wouldnt let me cancel.

Go to http://192.168.100.1 and login then go to Operations Config and screenie it.

You're defintely on 10mb, must be a glitch on speedtest.net

I tried a different tester and got
Speed Down 8917.94 Kbps ( 8.7 Mbps )
Speed Up 469.27 Kbps ( 0.5 Mbps )

So it probably was a glitch on speedtest :D

Definitely is. The Downstream Data rate is 10mb as shown in your screenshot.

Use OpenDNS DNS servers.

OpenDNS is stupid and forces ads down your throat.

How is this an advert other than the logo at the top? It's useful as it searches the domain rather than just showing an unhelpful error page along with making DNS lookups much faster.
