For some people it's just their voice and there's nothing they can do about it.
I'm always the one who's like
"WHATTT!?! SPEAK UPP"
LOL.

If you're not comfortable with speaking loudly, try and speak more clearly instead. :)

I have this problem at work. I tend to mumble a bit and my accent is a weird one so when I am on the phone or speaking to people I put on a posher accent and really pronounce everything.

Feels daft at first but really helps.

Just take your time when you're talking and project your voice :)

i'm the complete opposite, i speak too loud, when i whisper it sounds like i'm doing a stage whisper and i don't even notice :P.

Way i get around it in talking in a way that i think is slightly too quiet but it's actually normal so maybe you should talk slightly too loud?

Maybe you just don't have an appealing voice?

Talking louder might help?

I'm also a very quiet person, and when I'm talking, I don't feel like I'm talking softly until someone says what. Obviously I then speak up louder, but it's weird, and I really can't help it. I guess the only way to fix this problem is to speak louder than you usually do. I have the fear that it'd sound like I'm yelling at the person, if I speak to loud, lol. But I guess it's better than the person not being able to hear you.

1. Projection
2. Voice warm-up exercises
3. Talk slowly
4. Start smoking

I'd follow the first three there and ignore the 4th :P

Maybe I should be your vocal coach. Just kidding. But people actually love my voice, and I've no idea why.

yoo, i'm an acting student and we have voice lessons and there are just some people who don't have loud voices but you gotta make the best of what you got. if you do have a quiet voice, try and speak clearly and open your mouth when you talk.
you might actually find that you don't have that quiet a voice when you talk properly, but even if you do, speaking clearer will help people understand you more and hear what you're saying. :)

Gross! However he is right with the first three. Projection is all about confidence, be positive about your ability to speak well, take a deep breath and go for it. Imagine that you're trying to catch the attention of someone across a room with a low hum of activity and practise with a friend if you can, preferrably someone who will be honest and not laugh at you for it. Let us know how you get on!
