Hello,

Been an epic amount of time since i last logged in here, How is everyone?

I started working on a mashup earlier this morning and have just about got the raw application logic in place.

Its basically use's google maps and plots Tweets(twitter) and Live Journal entries on to it in real time. I plan to also add digg but currently its api is going for gold in fail, so thats on the back burner.

Any thoughts, comments or cristisms on whats ive got now?

Also does anyone know any sites with an api or feed that includes a location of some sort which i can add in as well (preferably without the need to authenticate), Any ideas on this would be great :)

I ask - why bother? When there already is twittervision (yes I know yours does it with Live Journal) but it's nothing new what you're doing and personally I find the whole idea trivial and pointless. As for improvements - the ability to filter the feed, so only allow twitter or live journal and add more resources instead of just Twitter and Live Journal. Finally the ability to clear or a limit of amount of tweets and Live Journal entries so it doesn't completely cover the entire map.

Goodluck

I think its quite cool to see where in the world people are tweeting and journaling so I see a point in this.

Well the why bother is that its worth 10% of a module on a degree course, i spent about 3 weeks trying to think up a useful idea but ultimately gave up and went with this :p

The more resources bit is really down to very few places actually providing geographic info via api, although with some extensive work around ive come up with a way to get info for some feeds that dont provide it. FML is now on there too :)

If anyone knows of any apis with geographic/location data please post.

Filtering the feed and limiting the total points on the map are on the todo list (though i wana see if i can get some more content up on it first)

Thanks for the input

Maybe a next button? Once you read it you get bored waiting for the next one to come up?

I am probably blind and there probably is one, ill have a look now.

This site above has been removed and replace with a new mashup - seen in this thread: http://www.habboxforum.com/showthread.php?t=577746
