Hey,

When I first had my projector I had one of these with the projector attached under it and DVD player ontop.

It's going to be more hassle to do that than have the projector fitted with the cables routed to a wall socket IMO because you're going to have to worry about weights and things.

Just get a normal projector mount or find a shelf or other high place to place it (Saves drilling holes for the mount, etc.) Also don't bother with a electric screen, it just adds alot more cost and its just as easy to pull a screen down :P

If you see the bar which holds my lights i got told i can get a pole which can go straight to the place i want but being held from there but not 100% sure surely i could mount it on the / wall and on that bar?

You roof slopes down? If so you'll need a special and more expensive projector mount. Also you'll need to consider the drop ratio of the projector (How far away the projector has to be to project on what sized screen).

May I just say I love your colour scheme in your room, reminds me of a Rubik's Cube.

Sup ross,

In terms of the mounting position you would need to find a joist in your ceiling. Ceiling light fixtures are typically screwed to the joist so you should find one which runs in one direction or another. The direction would be up to you to figure out a trip into your attic may reveal all or you can find joist metal fixtures using a detector like this. (http://www.toolstation.com/shop/Hand+Tools/Detection+Equipment/3+in+1+Detector/d10/sd2714/p88346)

You wouldn't be able to mount a projector on to the lighting fixture bar itself as the weight would rip it straight out the ceiling.

You could use a mount similar to these, http://www.projectorpoint.co.uk/projector-accessories/Projector-Ceiling-Mounts.html

I couldnt tell what sort of ceiling you have but when I was installing projectors in the media centre at my old place of work we had the projectors mounted using a similar mount like that.

We then ran extension cables from the projector across the ceiling and down the wall at a desk level so the user could plugin in their laptop without having to fiddle at the projector height level.

The user would plug in their laptop into a wall plate similar to this. The back of the place connects into the projector as normal.

If you are connecting very close to the wall you could use a wall mount like,

http://www.wedgwood-group.com/sms_projector_wl_v_wall_mount_in_aluminium_black.h tm

or you could use a wall mounted tv stand:

http://www.comparestoreprices.co.uk/images/unbranded/t/unbranded-tv-wall-bracket.jpg

You can then stack your devices on top, benefit of this would be that you could mount the bracket lower on the wall and stack your xbox, dvd player then projector on top. This was its lower enough for disc changes but the projector has the right height as its on top of the other appliances.

That would work quite well, something else came to my attention this morning. Generally there is a part of a job regarding mounts related to security to prevent the theft of the projector due to the expense of owning one. This sort of mount would not provide and theft prevention.
