So, hopefully in July/August I'm taking a trip to New York and I was thinking of grabbing a gig out there, y'know, different country different experience kinda thing, but I can't for my life find any listings. Has anyone got a site which has them?

well that'd be a hard list to make, especially for new york. the best you can do is go to the major venues' websites and look at their lists.

madison square garden (http://www.thegarden.com/tickets/?event_type=1)<< big name people
terminal 5 (http://www.terminal5nyc.com/events/)
bowery ballroom (http://www.boweryballroom.com/events/)
webster hall (http://www.websterhall.com/0809_websterhall/index.php)

i found this list, its pretty good but i doubt its complete:

Yeah, we have NME in the UK which does like a weekly round up so I was after something similar, if it existed =p Cheers for the help though Sam.

no probz, also, you might wanna check out the all points west festival, its technically in new jersey, but it's right across the river from manhattan, you can take a ferry there. thats from july 30th to august 2nd i believe. i might be going to the first day.

aha, I've had to use all my holiday for My Birthday/Reading/First Week of Uni/Missus' Birthday/Barbados... as great as I am at my job, I think it's taking the piss getting another two weeks off.

bit harsh your first week of uni counting towards your holiday :( oh well, its not as if you're missing much, the only band worth seeing there is arctic monkeys tbh
