Im thinking of getting one for £145 brand new!
But is it worth it?
Im getting the 8GB version. It will be used for when im on my way 2 6th form or when im in the library doing work etc.

The main i want it is the applications but is that a good enough reason to get one.
What are the good features that would be quite useful. I know it has wi-fi but it does it have a built in speaker?

Thanks =]

iPod Touch second gens have a speaker on. I got a first gen and loved it, sold it because I didn't think i'd use it and then found that actually I did miss the apps etc.. iPod Touchs are one thing worth paying the Apple tax for IMO!

For me buying an iPod Touch was a best buy for me in a long time - it's that good.

Buying an iPod Touch was the best thing I have ever done. It is actually more useful than I imagined.

Wait until september, that's when they normally bring out the new stuff. I know you would be gutted if you bought one and a new one came out a month later. (I'm typing on my iPod now, they're great!!)

Waiting from May to September is a bit excessive really..

The changes won't be THAT major to justify a 3/4 month wait.

Oh so after how many years of not having one you suddenly need one and can't wait a couple of months.

4 months isn't worth the wait for a new speaker or something small LOL

Yeh but the last update wasnt just new speakers was it? It was sleeker, had built in blutooth, support for microphones etc.

We don't know what the next update is, it could be tiny or it could be huge. I personally would wait until WWDC on the 8th June to see if they announce the new iPhone and if they do then what they do with it. If they upgrade the processor or the RAM as many are predicting then its likely they will do the same with the iPod Touch in September, in which case you should wait.

I've heard that it will have better processing power and even the possibility that it will have a camera to make it a full multimedia device.

I'd love to have an iPod Touch, but I'm gonna bring up my waiting and the holidaywork so I can buy a better one >:')

My cousin got one for free from a friend of hers! Her home button doesn't work anymore but still, free iTouch! Her friend got a new iPhone. Anywayzzz the battery goes empty to fast though, so hope with the new ones longer battery life!

Touches are so useful, especially for music control since you can control the itunes on a remote computer using 'iRemote'
