Dont get a touch phone they break too easy.

Get a LG KS360
http://neykie.files.wordpress.com/2009/03/lg-ks360-2.jpg
Good mp3 on it. Easy to use.
Its a little touchscreen [ONLY for ringing numbers] and thats it
They barely have any problems with them.
Easy to use QWERTY keyboard

I've had my iPhone 2 years, and it's not broken, depends how you use it aswell, if you're a complete idiot with it, no wonder it breaks.

Actually, you're kinda wrong, the glass used on the phones are more robust then than the plastic used on alot of modern day phones due to the plastic added into the glass. Like I said before, it depends how you use it.

What will you be using the iPod Touch for out of interest?

what you normally would use it for...Me personally would use it for a profit on ebay. Once again, which of it's functions would you use?

Why not just get an iPhone, mp3 + phone sorted in one.

Most phones are made with MP3 Built in now anyway so why an Iphone? Its exactly the same on any other phone..

Although them Sony ericsson walkman phones if they still make them used to be very good for music.

Any phone with a 3.5mm headphone jack. Nokia 5800 is supposed to be a pretty good music phone. Saves you buying a PMP too.

I know plenty of people with touch screen phones, none of them have broken.
And I absolutely do not recommend the KS360, I know 2 people that have it, both of them hate it.

Like DaveTaylor said, you could always just get an unlocked iPhone if you want to go with t-mobile. G1 is apparently good though, so it's really up to you.
I definitely recommend the iPod touch though, I have one and I love it.

Two things:

OP – unless you mention what specifications you are interested in, or price boundary, there is no way our Dell recommendations would be useful. If you have visited at any point since Dell's launch, you would realise there are computers aimed at different areas of the market. Pick a price/spec range.
Will everybody in this thread stop saying "omgzz it haz mp3". I could have sworn that was a file format. MP3 player ≠ MP3 file. Seriously... I hope some people grasp that before I have a pissfest.

<3 my 5800

Edit: Don't get that LG. It looks like Nokia circa 2002. (http://www.newlaunches.com/entry_images/1107/12/nokia_timeline.php) If you were a 10 year-old girl, it might be appropriate. Compared to other phones mentioned in this thread, its specs are laughable and not worth considering. There is nothing wrong with touch-screen phones unless you are a total klutz. Anyway, if that was the case you would need to look for a Nokia 5210, which is literally indestructible.

Not sure about laptops as I've never owned one before.

Either:

iPod Touch & Nokia N95 8GB
or
iPhone 16gb, don't bother with mp3.

Buy a 3G on PAYG and unlock it, DUH.

Also DON'T get an N95 imo, I have one and I gotta be honest, I really dislike it. It's slow, clunky, crashy & bulky.

I had an N95 before my iPhone 3G, tbh the N95 is a great phone! loved it and miss it, but my iPhone 3G is just as good and I love all the extras you can get on it! :D

i wouldnt waste my money buying both an mp3 player and a phone, nowadays most phones can be used as mp3 players anyways.
