How can I mark emails as junk, so I don't get them filtered through to my iPhone?

About 99% of the emails I get are spam or junk, can I filter stuff?

On Hotmail go to the top right, click 'Options' and then 'More options'. Scroll down to 'Filters and reporting' and up all the settings. I had the same problem with spam and sadly it picks the odd legitimate email up as spam but it's definitely worth it.

Or change to a provider that allows custom mail filters?

Try changing it to 'exclusive' filtering.

Make sure all your friends are on your contact list and facebook/myspace/ebay/whatever else you get emails from usually are added/safe listed.

So long as you check your junk mail every few days you shouldn't have any trouble missing important messages.

Cheers mate, I've changed my email filter to Exclusive, which the definition is....Exclusive - Everything is sent to the junk e-mail folder except messages from your contacts and safe senders, Windows Live Hotmail service announcements, and alerts that you signed up for.

Hopefully this should sort alot of my problem?

Yup, I set mine to that about 2 months ago and I've had no spam so far, neither have I missed anything important.

Just be sure to check the junk folder every 3 or so days to make sure something you need doesn't get automatically deleted.

Agreed, Especially with the reverting n00bs thinking they can hack going about. I spose as long as you keep your email safe they cant get you.
