Hey, its been a while since I have posted on here and I want to give most of you some advice on a condition called "tinnitus".

With a generation of Ipods, loud shows and clubs, we are constantly exposed to loud levels that can damage the ears. Now that obviously is a no brainier isn't it. But what some people don't know about, is this condition called tinnitus.

So what is tinnitus then? It can be referred to a ringing in the ear, sometimes it can be temporary, but constant exposure to loud noises can lead to having the condition PERMANENTLY, that's right there is no cure! A constant ringing in your ear 24/7, so what do you do to prevent this?

Well, tinnitus can be cased by many factors, old age, ear infections, head trauma. But the MAIN cause in young people is loud exposure to sound, that's right, listening to your mp3 full blast, going to loud concerts ect CAN cause tinnitus.

If somebody told me this, it would be a big deal to me, music is a big part of my life and I wouldn't want to give it up because of this condition. Well you don't have to, all you have to do is wear ear protection when going to loud clubs and gigs, and just simply turning your ipod down if its too loud.

The reason I am giving this advice is because, I didn't have a clue about this condition, and I didn't wear ear protection when rehearsing with my band ad going to gigs/clubs, I listened to my mp3 loud and now I am plagued with this horrible condition for the rest of my life.

Protect your ears and look after them.

If you have not been exposed to loud noises recently, it may be caused by ear build up or a cold, so go see your doctor.

All the best

Well that's your opinion, But I would rather wear plugs at a gig which in my opinion sounds much better because it cuts off all the nasty high frequency's, then having to live with "T".

As soon as you get tinnitus that's you for life, all you'll hear is ringing and you won't get to enjoy music and normal sounds :eusa_ange, I think it's alright if you don't go to too many gigs and I know the effects but no way would I wear ear plugs unless they went with my outfit :eusa_danc

People differ, some people get "T" after one concert, were as for some people, take the vocalist from my band, seems to be aright. I think your statement has some truth in it, but is a bit of a misconception. I don't get the deal with ear plugs, you can't actually see them, unless you have short hair, but then all you see if the end of them in your ear, its no big deal.

My sister uses gel ear plugs that are squishy and clear, and very discreet.
