View Full Version : I like her...

Okay so here's the situation. I like this girl (let's call her Jenny) but she has a boyfriend (let's call him Josh).
So I've known Jenny for quite a while and over time, I've gotten closer and closer to her, but she's always been with Josh. However at a recent night out, Josh cheated on Jenny by getting with another girl, causing the two of them to finish for a while.
So Jenny is all upset etc and I figure it's time for me to tell her I like her, so here goes... Oh no her and Josh are back together again. Dammit.
However, since the incident, Jenny really doesn't trust Josh. She constantly talks ill of him to me and how much he annoys her etc. It seems to me that she doesn't really care for him anymore, and now he's finding out about how close me and Jenny are, so whenever the two of them are together, Josh is constantly being paranoid incase she is talking to me, asking her what the sentence in her PM on MSN means and if it has anything to do with me, and if they ever argue, I'm always at the root of it.

Basically, what should I do? I don't want to be the reason they finish, but I want them to finish if you know what I mean?
Should I tell her how I feel, or should I just wait incase they finish again? Cos that seems kinda likely, it's just difficult to tell when the now.

I'd tell her the truth, ask her does she really care about this "Josh", if not thenn just ask her if theres any point in going out with him if she doesn't like him. Tell her about how you feel about him and see how she reacts, its a matter of time atm 2bh you could wait but if you wait too long then she might find someone else. If you want to tell her then tell her sweetly and make sure shes actuall listening and make sure its in person.

need to act quick before you find yourself in the 'friend zone' and theres no getting out of that one.

It's a tricky one because if you wait around too long, you'll get into the friends zone which is really hard to get out of because she will start to see you as sort of a gay best friends lol. My advice would be to go with your heart (always wanted to say that) - If you really like her and can't hold back and you like her that much that you're willing to risk losing your friendship aswell as your pride if she knocks you back, go for it. If not wait until she's single.

Thanks for all the advice guys, I never really considered the 'friend zone' aspect of it coming into the equation. I think I'm going to tell her that I like her, see where it goes from there.

EDIT: She's just uploaded a bunch of photos of him and her kissing/hugging etc to Bebo, she's made a whole album dedicated to it. I feel so crap right now....

She's a mug for taking him back.. I think you need to talk to her or maybe drop hints? I'm not sure if you should rush into things though as it might ruin her and his relationship, if she is happy with him and you ruin things she'll be annoyed at you more than ever but if she's not happy why's she still with him? Maybe it's because she doesn't want to be alone? I don't know it's a tricky one. Sounds like me you can either do 2 things though, A. Tell her how you feel B. Don't tell her and hope for their relationship to end. Good luck! Oh and just becuz she uploaded a photo album doesn't mean she's like madly in love or anything!

Just wait :S. Cus by the sounds of it it's more than likely they are gonna break up for good next time, and when they do, just go for it. But in the meantime i'd get more and more close to her, just incase they fall out pretty soon and she'll be more than willing to go for it. :-)

I was so close to copy and pasting this to all your bebo friends, but I grew a conscious at the last minute.

Even though she's made the album and they look happy together once again I think you should tell her. The worst that will happen is that she'll be like "alright..." you can tell her before you have something to tell her but you don't want it to affect the friendship you already have. Even if she doesn't feel the same way you'll still remain close mates - if she's a true friend.

You'll regret not telling her if you never get around to it. Go for it son! x

By the by, on the topic of friendzones; talking to a girl you want to get about her boyfriend can often lead to the friendzone. You're normally better off just flirting with her and keeping her mind off him.
