yeah, i can listen to music on itunes, but i cant listen to anything from the internet? say youtube or radio1, any idea what it could be?

volume is turned up.

If your using vista, you can mute different applications, you can check this by just clicking the "sound" icon in the taskbar and then clicking Mixer.
