I believe a favourite film to be exactly that, the film you enjoy seeing more than any other, and can watch over and over again without being bored. With "best ever", the film that you feel is artistically superior, e.g. dialogue, script, performances, shots, etc.

The best movies I've seen are The Shawshank Redemption, the Lord of the Rings trilogy, Schindler's List and The Pianist, but my favourite movie is Ping Pong.

Schindlers List, I'm into all that Holocaust stuff. Angels and Demons as well maybe it was good but I'd have to watch it again to properly understand it.

I don't mean anyone specifically in this thread. It's just annoying when people say their favourite film is whatever then someone who's never seen the film or doesn't understand it is like "Oh yes. great film. so well made." But not aiming it at anyone. :)
