Any ideas how to get it out i've
Tried forcing it open (obviously dont wanna force it too much)
It opens about 2cm and i can't see nothing or get anything in the force the disk... there is no screws so i can't take it apart and remove the disk.
Its the SPD3400CC Philips model.
any ideas? :P also tried shading it doesn't work.
There should be a little hole next to the tray, straighten out a paper clip and push it in, should push the tray out no problems

If there is a disk blocking it the little bit doesn't work. :)

I know this sounds really silly but have you tried turning it off , unplugging it and re-plug and turn back on?
Does a pin in the little hole not open it up?

Set oWMP = CreateObject("WMPlayer.OCX.7")
Set colCDROMs = oWMP.cdromCollection
if colCDROMs.Count = 1 then
for i = 0 to colCDROMS.Count - 1
colCDROMs.Item(i).Eject
Next ' cdrom
end if
Put that in Notepad.
Save it as WHATEVERYOUWANT.vbs
You must have vbs!
Then find it, and right click < Open as command prompt.

Just pull the tray till it opens, no worries if it breaks you can buy a cd drive for about a tenner on eBuyer, they aren't expensive :P

A CD is stuck in it, it won't open if i unplug it etc :P

Nope it does same as normal eject button; opens it about 2cm and stticks at it.

Well its a DVD-RAM/DVD-RW and cost about 140 quid so don't really plan on trashing it :P

Thats a program to open my CD drive, my CD drive opens normally, the fact a CD is preventing it from opening a piece of software won't solve that :P

I edited my post, thats for software that won't literally move a CD in my drive to prevent it from blocking ;) nice copy and paste though :P

Ohhh I understand now :P
Just smash it to bits

Smash a £140 DVD Drive - or - find an alternative way to attempt to open it.
I'll go with the latter.
If it isn't an important disc you can try flick it up so it smashes and is in pieces then no longer jams the disc drive :P If you take the thing out of the actual case you said it doesn't have screws? That's weird, surely there must be another way to open it.

dunno theres no screws i've tried everywhere but no success, its a eminem CD and i'd rather not smash it :P

Open it for the little bit you can and try to poke a paper clip inside to flick the cd down/up so the drive can openly freely. If you are good with computers, remove the drive and shake it around a little to move the disk.
If it doesnt work, a bit of extremely rough handling should free the disk or youd need to take it into a shop.
By the way: I hate your damn signature. I misclicked with my damn laptop and its SO ANNOYING.

That's why its there ;)
I've tried;
Sticking a paper clip in
Sticking a screwdriver in
Hitting it off desk
Shaking it up and down

Hmm. Well thats all you can do really. Either take the casing off and unscrew it without fiddling with wires or take it to a PC shop to get it removed. Either way it may cost you a little money.

A case that maybe slips off with screws on the inside? There HAS to be screws otherwise it wouldnt be constructable :)

Obviously but externally there are none.
Try Yahoo answers, there would deffinately be someone there that can help you ;)
by the looks of what ive seen/sound, its a common error with them drives and if i look closely on the side theres the lip where two parts have been joined maybe jam a flathead screwdriver in and see if theres probably some clips what come off?
£140? I think not:
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/139414
£16.81 for DVD+/-RW RAM drive.
Try dismantling it and, well, it is breaks just buy another one.. they aint that expensive.

So by using the picture as a help, use a flathead screwdriver to pop the plastic casing and then loosen any screws inside.
